The dynasty is over?

Their QB was not good, at all. If the other two are not better, they are in trouble offensively. Where we used to see stars and stellar players across the board for them, I only saw a few of the caliber that they used to have.

Texas wasn’t a bad team and may very well beat us but, they certainly are not the level Bama was during their peak.

Dynasty is over!

Honestly, as a college football fan, I don't want to see Saban fall apart and have losing seasons. I don't want him to win another NC, but I want him to go out with some accomplishment. Love him or hate him, you have to admit, he is one of (if not the) best to ever do it in college.
No i don’t feel that way. Saban is a great coach no doubt but he’s a horrible person. I think he’s gotten entitled and wants the rules of the game to benefit him and only him, hence why he pushes for changes whenever an opponent appears to be getting the upper hand.

He also has no problem turning a blind eye to his players bad actions and makes pathetic excuses when called out.

He has proven time and again he doesn’t deserve respect as a person. I don’t want him to go out on top, he doesn’t deserve that honor

Since they (the team) knows they can be beat, watch them win out and beat Georgia twice for the NC. That, would be funny!

Gumps still have to play Ole Miss, A&M, Tenn, and LSU. They will lose another game.

You're not gonna beat Georgia with the Gump's QBs, certainly not twice

Texas has an outstanding team. Alabama is still very good. I think they still win the west.
I think they have the shot but they are playing with a QB who can’t read defenses and is slow to make decisions. And Texas beat them deep very similarly to how we beat them last year - they’ve got secondary problems and can’t pressure the QB.

They (Bama fans) are saying this morning that Saban was just playing Milroe because Saban defers to the QB with seniority, and the backups are much better..umm ? What say you?

Buchner is the same age as Milroe (RS SO) and came from ND with Tommy Rees, so in theory should have a leg up on the system. I think there’s a reason why ND was in the portal hard for Hartman this past year.

I imagine that their message boards are flooded with Bama tears

They’re still slumping off 6 nattys in a bit over a decade and this is the first home loss since LSU beat them when they won the natty. If that’s the death knell of a dynasty hand me a shovel and pick so I can dig a grave for our program to step in.
I was wondering how long it would take for someone to come in here & defend them

Sorry l respectfully disagree. I hope he goes down in flames and Alabama is ruined for the next decade.

Saban has a couple of things going against him. One of those issues certainly isn't lack of talent. The game passes everyone by eventually. He would never, ever hire an OC like Huepel to run things. He likes guys like Tommy Reese. Regular offense. He also doesn't have a QB whisperer on staff, and I question how good his QB room is anyways. His defense also isn't going against slow, plodding offenses anymore. The game has changed and became more creative on offense, no more 3 yards and a cloud of dust. There will be very few 17 - 10 style games anymore, and that very much works against him. Most of his good assistants have left to coach elsewhere. The pool of talented assistants is getting shallow.....at least the ones he would like to hire anyways.

Their O line and D front have been weak for several years. Tua and Bryce saved his bacon. Otherwise he would have been losing 2-3 games a year since 2019.

The undoing of Alabama was switching from the old school, smash mouth style to the wide open offense. Also, the portal & NIL have allowed more teams to match up better against them.

I'll believe the dynasty is over -- really believe it -- when Tennessee goes down to Tuscaloosa and hammers a big orange steel stake through their evil heart which pumps not blood like yours and mine, but rather a thick, vomitous oil that oozes through their rotten veins and clots in their peanut-sized brains which becomes the cause of their Nazi-esque patterns of stupidity.
You have to be kidding

NIL has hurt Bama they and a few other teams perfected the pay to play and now everyone can do it .
Has it? What are the data points that prove this? NIL is a recruiting and retention tool and they had a top class and have the top blue chip ratio.

I got no data points but it's plainly obvious that NIL has created a path for everyone to turn over their roster quickly. When the NCAA reduced the hard cap on signings a few years ago they handed a huge advantage to schools that were already sitting on loaded rosters. Now, schools that have to gamble on some 3* prospects can encourage the wash outs to hit the portal and regain some slots. Plus, it's harder for a school like Bama to keep ahold of four star talent in the three-deep because those guys who are not starting and/or feeling the NIL love can hit the portal. I've heard a coupe of head coaches say that you are basically re-recruiting your own roster every day while still having to recruit for the future.

It’s not defending them so much as acknowledging the achievement. We hate Bama but they’re the standard. Last night was their worst loss in twenty years. Ours was losing at home to Georgia State a few years ago. I think we’re heading towards relevance and some hardware with this coaching staff but it’s still a multi year rebuild and it’s looking like you’re seeing that this season since we don’t have the level of qb play as last year.

One of Saban's greatest strengths was adopting the new offensive style of CFB with Kiffin, Sark etc. Seems he's regressed back to a more power offense game for some reason. Without the ability to hold opponents to the 20s in scoring I don't see how this works against good teams.
