The dynasty is over?

Bama’s appears to be over.

Georgia isn’t done yet.

As much as I dislike Alabama, the Georgia fans are worse (also worse than Florida).

Georgia is hiding behind weak opponents like Ball State and talking **** about Alabama and how they will kill everyone this year. I would love to see them epically fail. Probably not going to happen but man have their fans been spouting out lately. Most annoying fanbase since the USC Pete Carroll or Miami 2000s fan base. (Ohio State is up there as well and to be frank, we (Tennessee) are bad).

I got no data points but it's plainly obvious that NIL has created a path for everyone to turn over their roster quickly. When the NCAA reduced the hard cap on signings a few years ago they handed a huge advantage to schools that were already sitting on loaded rosters. Now, schools that have to gamble on some 3* prospects can encourage the wash outs to hit the portal and regain some slots. Plus, it's harder for a school like Bama to keep ahold of four star talent in the three-deep because those guys who are not starting and/or feeling the NIL love can hit the portal. I've heard a coupe of head coaches say that you are basically re-recruiting your own roster every day while still having to recruit for the future.
So if we look at blue chip ratio, Bama, GA, and OSU all have enough blue chips to fill a 3 deep on both offense and defense. Bama's leading LB in tackles and 2nd leading receiver were both 4 star transfers. So while coaches are having to recruit their own rosters, it's much harder for the coach that doesn't have top 3 depth. GA lost AD Mitchell and just go pluck the tip receivers from Mizzou and Miss State. Who does Mizzou and Miss State fill those spots with? I'm not saying NIL and the portal haven't been factors in parody, but the parody is going to occur most between the mid and lower tier p5 teams. Bama's loss has more to do with Saban's coaching staff being plucked constantly over the years and the players they currently have can't maximize the schemes and plays. Also, football is still played from the inside out. Bama, for the past few years, got away from the huge mountains on the lines they used to recruit

The Back-to-Back National Champions are "hiding" behind weak opponents. 😄

No worries friend, Vols get their shot at Neyland.

We are invading this year through the Tennessee River... cannons blazing.

Watch out Vol Navy!

It’s very possible the greatest football dynasty we have ever seen is ending. I mean it has to at some point right? However it wouldn’t shock me at all if Bama won the rest of their games and even the SECCG.

They (Bama fans) are saying this morning that Saban was just playing Milroe because Saban defers to the QB with seniority, and the backups are much better..umm ? What say you?
Hard to believe a coach wouldn’t play the better player but team chemistry is also an issue. I know one thing, Ty Simpson will be the #1 QB in the portal if he stays behind a guy who can’t read basic pass coverage.

Riding last year's team I see. This year's team hasn't won anything yet (not even a game against a Power 5 team).

Last time I checked, Georgia was the #1 ranked team in the country.

We can only play our schedule. Which is usually made a decade in advance.

We have no control over our 8-game SEC schedule. Not our fault Auburn and Florida have gone downhill.

We play Georgia Tech ever year, again, not our fault they have gone downhill.

We also attempt to schedule the biggest marque non-conference game we can find. Of course, this year OU was cancelled by the SEC due to realignment.

What else would you suggest?

I've never seen Alabama pushed around so much at home. There's been so many calls of Alabama's/Saban's dynasty being finished over the past 5-6 years, but this feels different.

It does not feel differently to me at all. Bama got THEIR call late in the game and perfectly on time, AS USUAL. The problem was an unusal self inflicted wound which came in the form of an INT by their own QB which was then a quck score for the Longhorns. That rarely happens to Bama, and even more rarely when they're at home. They'll get their calls best believe that.

NIL has hurt Bama they and a few other teams perfected the pay to play and now everyone can do it .
It’s not talent. There’s enough of a drop in overall teaching and development. Not enough to reduce them below elite status, but enough to equalize when things are closer to equal. Still believe Saban panicked and tried to mimic UGA…but went further back to Greg McElroy era offense.

Not talking smack until you actually play someone.

I agree it isn't 100% your fault but I would not be on here talking trash about other teams until my team actually plays in a meaningful game. Tennessee hasn't played in a meaningful game yet either.

The one thing that I see about Georgia vs. Alabama or others is you have a lock down defense (something that used to be more common throughout the SEC but has been lost).

I would be shocked if Alabama competed with Georgia or even beat Tennessee on a Neutral site if Tennessee happened to beat Georgia. I can see Alabama getting to Atlanta due to their schedule and how wimpy the SEC West is. They get all of their tough games at home: LSU, Ole Miss, and Tennessee.

Georgia is best team in SEC, the question is who is #2? We will find out about Tennessee this week.

The dynasty isn't over yet because they are still Bama but it's not a guarantee that you can just pencil in Clemson vs Bama for the title every year. Those days are over. Bama will always be a top 5-10 program that will get the top recruits. The playing field is a lot more equal now than it has been for the past 10-15 years.

FWIW - A&M rented out the riverboat for their game in Knoxville this season as well. Not the first time this has happened. Having been out that route, for 2 hours plus you are touring the river (a really pleasant time FWIW - so enjoy the trip), but you aren’t at the dock with the Vol Navy for very long.

That having been said, renting it out for a game on November 18th will likely be quite cold. Again, have fun, but I’m not sure this is as original an idea as one might think.

Hopefully both teams are undefeated and it’s the National Game of the Year. Time will tell.

First of all, the UGA fan barking and leaving pyramid piles of poop on the floor in here can show himself out.

Second, I hope Saban sticks around long after his expiration date to the point where Bama has "a Nick Saban problem." I think he's too prideful and egotistical to step down at the right time. He's gonna Bobby Bowden it.

Honestly, as a college football fan, I don't want to see Saban fall apart and have losing seasons. I don't want him to win another NC, but I want him to go out with some accomplishment. Love him or hate him, you have to admit, he is one of (if not the) best to ever do it in college.

Let's hope he ends 2nd to Heupel just like Bear finished 2nd Neyland.

Bama does not have the high level talent across the board that they have enjoyed during the Saban years, the transfer portal and the NIL exchanges have prevented Saban from spooling up all the talent and offering those players the exposure to end up in the NFL via a significant draft position, however, Saban is not by himself struggling with these changes, Dabo's program is fully adrift for the same reasons.

Alabama is still a very good team and still very well coached, but their players make mistakes that 5 years ago their team simply did not ordinarily make,
How do they not have the talent. I thought they have been in top 3 in cruiting for ever? I’m confused?

I want Alabama to lose but losing OOC games hurts our Strength of Schedule. I would cheer for our rivals to go 4-8 (0-8 in the SEC). We need them to win OOC games, especially in a year like this where the league is taking it on the chin hard. Too late for that now.

Also, it is a lot more fun to beat a top ten, undefeated Alabama team than a 3-2 Alabama team.

Well golly gee wilkers I never thought of the SOS argument…. Seriously I’m fine with Bama, Georgia and Florida losing every single game they play. Crap on SOS. As long as those teams continue to dominate in recruiting we won’t have as good a shot.

Recruiting is the one area that has me thinking. FSU being up will probably help us. Ironically, we were good back when FSU and Miami were up. Then again, we have always had talent on the field, we just haven't had it in the coaching ranks until now.

Do you think UT could actually lose this week?
