I never actually said I was billy so I'm probably not. We were an onsides kick & TD away from beatin Bama at Brian Dennehy.

How do they appear "more beatable" when they lost 2 games, one being in the playoffs to the evetual NC, and they still won the SEC?

They definitely appeared to be "more beatable" this season than any other in recent memory. Bama very easily could've gone 8-4 this past season. IMO they were lucky to be in the game versus the Barners. Shades of the 2000 game versus the Gators, kicking field goals.

Next season should be very interesting with all of the big time talent that they have to replace.

They will replace 4/5* players with other 4/5* players. Alabama will win 10+ and the west in 2015. Saban is a great coach who knows how to develop talent.

Bama was up by two TDs with 14 seconds left to go in the game. State would have needed the onside kick and a hail mary from their own end of the field.

I agree that they completely reload, but eventually there will be some recruiting misses. Those 5 star guys on the field like Cooper, Yeldon, Collins, will be replaced by guys that are 5 stars on paper and can't match the productivity of the guys they replace. It's inevitable. Nick Saban is one of the best college football coaches ever, but every coach no matter how great, will have a period of time where they trend down.

As I said, next year should be very interesting. Drawing UGA and us should make next year even more difficult.

Bama had its worst team since 2007 (imo) judging by the eyeball test.

The dropoff was so dramatic that they went 12-2 and were SEC champions.

When a "bad" year is 12-2 with a conference title, the dynasty continues.

OT with a mediocre LSU team, almost beat by Arkansas, squeezed by State @ home... That's how they appear more beatable.

Won the SEC, lost by a TD to the National Champion in the playoffs, and I hate to break it to you but that MSU game wasn't as close as you remember it.

Not to mention you could say the same thing about pretty much the last 4-5 years picking and choosing where you want to see it.

Like I said, examine several seasons of the last 4-5 years and you'd say the same thing.

In fact, this was said last year after they lost in the Sugar Bowl. So I'm going to need more than a "hunch" and selective evidence.

They still bring in a ridiculous recruiting class. That won't change for a while. They will be a power for a long time but competetion against them should get better.

Yep But some of his recruiters have bailed. Saban will have to work a little harder. Losing Lance hurts Bama.

Saban is done winning NCs.

He needs the old system of winning one game, a game you get into due to favored status. A game where you have a month to prepare for one opponent.

New college playoff system does not work for him.

Wonder why Saban wanted them back?

They were available when other coaches left. I don't think Saban dislikes either one. I'm sure Steele would still be there if he hadn't gotten a promotion at LSU.

Something happened with Thompson, but I don't know what. Given his history, my money is on him taming some co-ed strange.

Didn't Steele tank at Clemson?

He had some kind of breakdown in that 70 point destruction against WVU. Started calling plays from his days at Bama and the Panthers.

He was also demoted from DC at Bama following the '07 season. He is a really good recruiter, but if I was an LSU fan, i'd be really nervous about him calling plays.

Downgrade from Chavis. A&M won in that deal.
