The Endzone Garden Thread

Ex-husband's mom lived on the back nine of Pinehurst #1. It's astonishing how many bad golfers there are.
Yeah, people think it would be great to live on a golf course, but those golfers aren't PGA good. We rented a condo on a golf course in FL once. Thought it would be fun to watch the linksters. Nope, we were too worried about the balls that were headed our way.

What outfit did you work for? You once mentioned that your pension from a certain organization had kicked in.

I have done a little bit with my containers.

Spring break was after Easter, and I wanted to get a LOT done. But I took a pretty hard dumba$$ fall on the asphalt (tripped on a bag of potting mix), bruised my left hip and left arm pretty badly and bled a lot (dam blood thinners).

I didn't try to start anything indoors this year. Lettuce is germinating, cornflowers and spinach should by Monday. The wind is drying out the pots and grow sacks more than normal, I think.

My lettuce, spinach, and turnip greens (ugh) are all up in one bed, along with the garden peas, sugar snap peas, green onions, and some of the carrots in the other; all direct-sown.

I had them under garden cloth for the first three weeks, for both cold snaps and the cat.

So far behind!! Not one single plant I seeded in the greenhouse last month has germinated. Not one !! Don't know if I did hte seeds to deep or what. Gotta re-do the cups this weekend. Guess i'll stop by the mennonites and see if they have anything I was going to grow and get a head start on re-seeding.

I’m just now starting to see the tiniest sets of true leaves. So frustrating. Good luck!

Golf is a funny game. There are ball attracting magnets along all fairway road frontages, and the back walls of houses. It's like the episode of Frasier riding the bike.

In my community their are a lot of older widow women. I share with them and my wife puts some away. I do sell some okra and corn.
What a wonderful thing to do! Good for you.

What are you planting this year? (You’ve probably already posted this, but I had no idea of the sheer scale.)

Today I planted beans, okra, lettuce,spinach,broccoli,beets,onions,bok choy,zucchini,cucumbers, radishes,sunflowers , cabbages,squash.

My tomatoes are 9in tall and need to be planted, (The containers are 3in tall) but forecast still has lows of mid forties. I don't think I want to put in ground until the over night temp is in the fifties. So I'm going to transplant to bigger pots and target first weekend in May for planting.
