The eternal QB debate (merged)

I want him to do well and I root for him to do well.

I just hate it when he throws picks and makes terrible plays.

Yes, I support Crompton and the Vols. Gotta admire the guy for staying with it amidst all the hate. I'm really rooting for him to improve over the course of the season.

I just don't see any evidence as to why I should trust him...I support the team, so if he does well the team does well. So I suppose you could say I support him by association, but as an individual, I just don't have anything for him.

Hes just not a good QB and he doesn't get it. All we can do is "put up" with him till hes gone, and hope the staff gets Stephens or Bray ready to do better next year.

If you are a fan, and a "supporter" of the program, the answer is simply yes. He is our QB this year, next year, it will be someone else's job. I seem to remember this conversation last year, and CPF pulled Crompton, and Stephens didn't prove to be the answer. Let's just deal with what we have, and move forward.

I think we have to have trust in the staff..if THEY think JC is the best chance we have to win

They simply think JC is the "best" QB that is on our roster right now, which doesn't actually say much for him or his backups...

I don't believe our staff is any more confident of JC's ability than I am, its just that they have no other options, at least for the rest of this season.

So I grit and bear it, and cringe every time he drops back...

I support any UT player. I support him even more when he's only handing the ball off though. He reminds me of the quote Jeff Garcia gave to ESPN about Jamarcus Russell. He makes all the throws in one on one drills but can't make it happen on the field. I know it's not ALL his fault but he makes his own share of bone head plays. QB is def. not the position to lose your head, especially in the SEC.

I will always pull for the guy. I really feel sorry for him. He grew up loving Tennessee and it isnt his fault that he has been though so many different systems. I dont know that it has anything to do with his poor performances, but it could. He has been terrible, and I keep waiting for him to turn it around, but it doesnt look good.

Here is to JC getting it turned around.

GO VOLS!!!!!!

I support him.....I'm just not convinced that he isn't left handed.

It is sad that some people treat him like they did our football team last year - wanting failure. Last year people cheered against us so we'd get a new coach. Now I hear people cheering for Crompton to throw a pick so we can get Stephens (who dominated the Wyoming game last year....). I want Crompton to do well. I want him to dominate. As long as he is in there I support him and hope the best for him.

23 to 5 more supporters than non supporters. We will see how this thread goes. Kind of hard to understand if some of the these post are really supporters though through their comments about the guy.

I support the Vols but I don't have much faith in Crompton's ability to play quarterback. I keep hoping the light will come on and he can have some good games and be a plus instead of a minus so far as his play goes.
