The eternal QB debate (merged)

Oh, the QB's are also below avg as a group but I figured everyone would accept that as a default.

FWIW, you were singing a significantly different tune after WKU... since we're all concerned about history and stuff.

I would say Jones is an above-average athlete in the SEC. It's tough to say that a player who never took a snap at WR before being at UT is now above the average kid who played wideout his whole life, and is now playing on an SEC roster.

Edit:
Especially when said receiver is notorious for running bad routes.

Jones has been here for three years. Isn't it odd that only now he has route amnesia?

BTW, one or two occurrences and your own personal belief hardly makes one "notorious" for bad route running.

He's in a brand new offense. He wasn't in the last few weeks of practice because of injury.
No, it's not surprising that he came out in his first game and sucked it up. (UCLA)

That's no excuse for him to do the same thing the next week.

He is not only delusional , but inept at going through his reads. I have the upmost faith that Lane will put him in situations the remaining of the year that limits his turnovers , like he did at Florida . It just upsets me that he is our best chance at winning in the SEC .
He sulks so much on the sidelines it gives me no reason to beleive he can lead this team to no more than 5 games.

...Stephens has gametime moxie, much better field presence and throws the ball fill much better feel. Yes, he can make some stupid throws, but at least he'll take a shot down the field when possible. He apparently doesn't practice as well as JC. From the practices I went to, and I'm sure others can verify, JC usually looks great in practice. I think Kiffin is giving him the benefit of the doubt for just a little while longer, say next week, before going with NS.

Crompton SUCKSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bring in Stephens lets try to finish with a winning record. IMO Crompton will not allow us to do that. Jonathon :censored: Crompton

Crompton is trash, there's no doubt about that, but if Stephens can't beat JC in camp what makes you think he's better?

I feel bad knocking a fellow human being so badly but he isn't. A real fan would request to sit on the bench or leave the team. He isn't doing any good for the team. This really does sound horrible but it's true. He is being selfish by putting himself on the field.

Watching him play makes me want to vomit. I've given him the benefit of the doubt over and over again but this is too much. He is single handedly keeping Ohio in the game.

no...no they wouldnt.

I dont know of any player who'd say "coach bench me" in the middle of a game

....that's actually the kind of thing that a coach could choose to cut a player for more than anything
