The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (Disney+)

That's the beef I had, I didn't like how Walker and Sam were able to throw it and catch it so "easily". Bucky catching it made sense given he's a super solider. But as I've said, the MCU is all over the place with super powers and how they work and how fights work.

In fairness so are the comics. Especially in the early days. Their powers did just about whatever they needed them to do.

But as I mentioned above, in First Avenger Howard Stark makes a point to talk about how light weight the shield is. Rogers asked why it wasnt standard issue and the only reason given is because they only had enough vibranium for the one.

And black panther has power but he is no super soldier and his hole suit is vibranium.

It's light weight but stronger than anything on earth and it reflects energy.

No super soldier serum.
His powers are similar to Juggernauts powers. Or Scarlet Witch. They come from an extra dimensional being.
It manifests through an herb grown in wakanda that only kings can take.

Did anybody watch agents of shield all the way through? I binge watched a lot of it.. up until ghost rider started to appear with the ghosts or whatever, and it was waaaay out there and weird. Just seemed like they ran out of plot. Did it ever get any better after that?

It finished strong. I thought the Ghost Rider stuff was a little lame too.

AoS was good for what it was, but after about the 2nd season they stopped trying to tie them into the movies. Which on one hand it was good because it let them have more freedom but bad in that it ended up not really feeling like it was in the MCU. Towards then end they just started throwing in lines and stuff to remind everyone "Hey we're in the MCU!", like when Infinity War came out they threw in a line about "Thanos is coming to Earth right now!" Their last 2 seasons they just totally went their own way because they were not told how Endgame would play out and it pretty much ignores the Snap/Blip stuff. At best they can go multiverse.

Word is Feige is wanting to do a soft reboot bringing back most of the same characters and actors but they are going to mostly ignore the previous series. Actually sounds like he's doing that with a lot of the Marvel TV stuff, as Charlie Cox is back as Daredevil, Ritter is coming back as Jessica Jones, and JB is coming back as Punisher but they are going to mostly ignore the events of the Netflix shows. Apparently in other countries they've already moved Agents of Shield and Agent Carter to the "Leagcy Marvel" area with other non-MCU movies like Fantastic Four.

Interesting. I never really got into it but thought it was pretty cool how covered the initial fall out of Winter Soldier.

The Netflix stuff started ignoring the movies pretty much after a throw away line in the first episode of DD. If I remember correctly they made a vague reference to NY and Thor.
Going back through the MCU it’s quite telling how big an impact Thor’s arrival on Earth had on the direction of the movies. Particularly regarding SHIELD. I had forgotten how Fury used it as an excuse to recreate Hydra weapons from FA using the Cosmic Cube (yes I know it’s called the Tesseract but I will always see it as the Cosmic Cube).

The first seaons of DD, JJ, and LC all made vague references to the events of The Avengers (called it the "incident") and a few times sort of named dropped some of the Avengers (i.e. Jessica Jones called the Hulk "the big green guy"). IF referenced Sokovia and JJ season 2 talked about The Raft and made a very vauge reference to the Sokovia Accords. The other shows Cloak & Dagger and The Runaways had even fewer. C&D had like 1 throwaway line about "keeping up with the Starks of the world" and The Runaways said something about Wakanda.

I forgot about C&D and Runaways even existing LOL.

I’m glad they are just ignoring Inhumans. I hope they can give it another try. Love those characters.

My guess is all the previous "MCU" TV/streaming shows are going to be labled "multiverse" after that becomes a solidified thing in Spider-Man: NWH and Doctor Strange: MoM. Every thing else is going to get rebooted in the MCU proper now that everything can get a Disney+ show.

I liked WandaVision a lot more than this one. It was fine, always liked Mackie's Falcon. Got pretty heavy-handed though, and it had an uninteresting villain, some cringe writing, and Walker had an all over the map character arc.

I think every underbelly in the countless Marvel comics backlog is open game. It’s difficult to fathom, but the Guardians of the Galaxy were a minor storyline and now they’re a franchise. With Disney starving for new MCU shows to launch, it’s a matter of time. Would love for them to do better with Nova. Adam Warlock has already been hinted at...I forget the Easter egg.

It was at the end of GotG v2.

Yeah they are diving deep into the comics for shows.
