Tennessee football team finishes first session of training camp - GoVolsXtra Story
Honestly which wide reciever core do you all think is better? This year with Pearson, North, Malone, Pig or 2 years ago with Hunter, D Rodgers (before being dismissed), CP, ZRodgers?
I don't think that's a fair question.
the big 3 never played together, and even Zach Rogers made it to the NFL, no doubt, great outstanding talent there.
But...Pearson and Malone haven't stepped on the field yet, North is only a second year receiver.
I just don't think it's a fair comparison yet. Pearson, North, Malone, Pig, and even Croom may end up being every bit as good. No way to know.
I felt like Justin Hunter was good, but I don't think he was ever the same after the injury. His freshman year was his best year, IMO. Da'Rick of course, got it his second year and exploded when Hunter was hurt.
CP was just a man among boys. Will never be another exactly like him.
Don't know. I think Pearson has crazy potential. North can improve or regress this year, don't know. Set the bar really high for a freshman. Pig sounds like he hasn't missed a beat. Malone is still only a freshman, will be interested to see what he does against SEC DB's. Croom has shown signs of really being a great player, but nothing official yet.
If Croom flips the switch and plays as physical and as gifted as he can...
If Pearson is as athletic and talented in the slot as we think he is...
If North improves off of his freshman year, and everyone else keeps him from being doubled....
If Pig can be as good/better than he was last year...
If Malone can come in without freshman jitters and be solid...
If Johnathan Johnson and Josh Smith can be sure handed possession receivers...
If Vic Wharton can be a pleasant surprise and utilize his speed...
Then holy heck, what a wonderful world this would be.
