The Fall Camp Thread

He's the best offensive weapon in the history of Tennessee. He played for the dumbest staff in UT history though.....

I'm pretty sure that our staff put CP in position to be successful. You don't set the single season APY record without having a decent idea of what you're doing...

They might be but he has improved. Here's how I'd rank our WRs right now:

North
Howard
Malone
Pearson
Croom
Smith
Johnson
Jenkins
Wharton
Carter
Bowles
Gamble
Blanc

Just some observations on this.

1. Pig and Malone in front of VP?

2. Blanc last? By no means is he one of our best, but he got much more playing WR than Bowles at least last season.

3. After Croom it's really a crap shoot. Smith has the potential, but struggled in games last season and Jenkins hasn't even worn a full uniform onto the field yet.

You have brass balls for saying that.. We just witnessed a generational player

I recognize his skill and I'm simply saying Malone will contribute more to UT football than CP did in 1 season. In 3 seasons Malone will be better and I do not consider CP a generational player. Maybe Manning, but not CP.

Pig has proven himself against the top competition before and Malone is better than Hunter was at this point. VP will be good but he hasn't played against a lot of top competition yet. This list will probably be different after the season. And Blanc is last because of the injury and the fact he only caught one pass last year (still don't know how that pass was completed in the first place)

It is worth noting that VP has played against a higher level of competition than Malone at least though. IMO he has a more complete skill set than Pig and will have a bigger impact this season as long as e stays healthy.

What a great problem to have

He very well might. Just going off what we've seen already. VP didn't do much in the O&W game especially compared to Malone. But that's just one day.

#89 is Adrian Gamble. Transfer from Virginia and is eligible to play this year. #83 WR in the country out of HS with reported 4.4 speed. I noticed him too and said the same thing!

Yea he has that gliding speed. At first it looks like he is slow then you notice how fast the background is moving behind him

I would love to see Croom go nuts this season - but I consider him part of the crapshoot. North, Malone, Pearson, Jackson, and Pig I can all see having fantastic years.

I just don't believe Croom can make that big of a jump from what we've seen so far.

Not sure if you're serious. Milton I don't think ever caught a pass here. Croom was one of our few decent WRs last year. He's the best run blocking WR on the team and really started to use his physicality to his advantage this spring. Plus he's only a sophomore.

Croom needs to progress.. Chance are he will not be our #1 but needs to contribute like Brett Smith during Swain, Meacham years

You realize him being " one of our only decent recievers" was on a team where the leading reciever had less than 500 yards. if he couldnt shine more and make more of an impact with the terrible talent we had on the team last year how is he going to do much better with all the playmakers we have coming in? Im not tryin to knock croom because i like the guy and he seems like he really puts in the work and tries hard but so far i havent seen much to think he will be any better than milton. yes he can block, but hes 6'5 and 235 pounds so its not like thats a huge accomplishment seeing as he has probably 5 inches and 35 pounds on average cbs hes going to see.
