The Firestorm thread. Undeniably the greatest

It’s great to be in Nashville during the fall season after Halloween.
I’ll be seeing the rebuilding Titans playing a rebuilding Patriots team that is seeing fruitful results with their rookie QB that is flourishing.
I do want the Titans to lose most of their remaining games to get top draft picks to get the team rebuilt mainly WRs brigade and a Tight End equal to George Kittle or Frank Wycheck.
I am seeing the rebuilding Titans playing the Patriots today so I do want to see them win.

I’ll be changing my avatar to a different 2024 Vols action photo of Dylan Sampson running with the visible football.

Here are fall photos of a Hartford Wal Green’s, and items inside it including a Navy Connecticut Huskies hoodie, a smooth looking Red Wesleyan University hoodie that has same colors as Louisville although their Cardinals logo looks unique, and thus back area behind the hotel and Wal Green’s which would be challenging to climb although pretty easy for Spider Man, the Scarlet Spider, and Venom.
Also beautiful fall colors of the leaves.

Like the avi.
Thank you.

I assume you mean my current avatar which will remain in the Vols Football Dylan Sampson moving category until the Vols Football season ends.

I’m mostly caught up on writing movie reviews mainly for ones I’ve seen in theaters this year which I’ve been posting in the 2024 movie reviews thread on Super Hero Hype.
2024 because that’s the current year, movie reviews aren’t limited to 2024 movies because that would be very boring and restrictive.

I will be posting these movie reviews in this thread, and in the movies you’ve recently seen thread on VolNation.

I’ve watched multiple 2024 Ripped from the Headlines aka True Crime Lifetime movies which I’ll write reviews of.

The Titans still need to rebuild to return to being a consistent winning team like they were in the prosperous AJ Brown-Henry era even though they’ve looked better during the 3 weeks they’ve been in the 2024 rebuilding era.

I was thrilled that the Patriots Titans was a thrilling competitive game between 2 evenly matched rebuilding teams, and because the Titans defense proved to be reliable by creating multiple turnovers, and the Titans defense easily ended the game because Maye threw a deep pass to a Titans defender that remained in the right area when he easily intercepted a great thrown deep pass, and he took a knee which was an Any Given Sunday style ending because that was after the Titans used most of the 10 minutes in overtime before kicking a field goal since the Patriots defense was bend don’t break.
I was mostly on the mark because I predicted that the Titans defeat the Patriots in a thrilling competitive game because the Titans make less mistakes, Rudolph plays slightly better than Maye who while prospering still a Rookie QB, and the Titans succeed with a balanced offense.
Now all these details were on the Bullseye, also while the final score was 20-17 not 24-17 that’s still wasn’t far off the 24-17 score I predicted with the Titans as the victor since the Patriots scored 17 points with them losing the thrilling close game while the Titans won the game except were 4 points below the 24 points I predicted them to score for my score prediction.

I was seeing this Titans home game so I wanted to see them win even though I still want them to lose most of their other games so that they are in the top 5 for 2025 NFL Draft picks to succeed with rebuilding the Titans including get a AJ Brown or Calvin Johnson league Deep Threat WR, a great TE in the league of George Kittle or Frank Wycheck, etc.

The VolNation Brigade that have gotten to know I view as my online family.

At the ShadowLake Texas Roadhouse is the mobile White Board which shows multiple coworkers thanking United States Military Veterans for their service to the USA by serving in a United States Military organization which is an honorable impressive high bar commitment because it’s a very.challenging long term commitment that is physically challenging and mentally challenging.

I did sign it in the same area as Hannah Gilmore. A coworker that has the same initials as the memorable successful fictional pro golfer that is Happy Gilmore from the highly entertaining comedy movie Happy Gilmore.IMG_3916.jpeg

Shown in the 5th image are the Vols items I changed to after the Southern California Nebraska game ended.
I’ll buy a Nebraska Cornhuskers hoodie in the future.

I was pretty happy with Tennessee keeping it close for a whole game vs a desperate Georgia team, however it was disappointing and depressing that Beck was equal to Tim Tebow in this game because he did mostly everything right, had a great game, and he succeeded scoring a critical touchdown.
Coach Smart is a Chess King for using excellent second half adjustments similar to Coach Saban.

Tennessee was entirely outplayed in the second half where Georgia scored 14 points, and Georgia held Tennessee scoreless.

Tennessee has a reduced chance of making the 12 team playoff with the second loss , however it’s not some unrealistic long shot so I’m a lot less sad about the disappointing result that is Georgia defeated Tennessee in a high stakes close game.
The second loss is disappointing, however not detrimental for Tennessee’s playoff chances for reaching the 12 team playoff even though not in the driver’s seat since most likely they need a 2 loss Georgia team to lose a third game.

2024 College Football Week 12 Saturday
Here is the impressive pretty Red Corvette I got to park next to in the Hy Vee Parking lot.
It has that impressive exotic look similar to Ferrari cars.

I’ll be posting movie reviews in this thread later today including for the buddy cop Action movie set in Chicago that is Red Heat, The Skulls, Transformers One, etc.

Also, I saw a neighbor that has an impressive Classic Black Impala same as Dean Winchester of Supernatural on my 39th Birthday before driving out of the Applewood Neighborhood.

I’ll post a photo of it along with photos of Dean’s Impala for comparison.

Husband, Father, Killer: The Alyssa Pladl Story
8/10

The literal title of this movie leaves no doubt that the husband and father Steven played greatly by Matthew MacCaull is a fleshed-out character that the audience is supposed to hate, and the focus is on Alyssa Pladl.

The movie explains anything that should be explained including giving her a realistic convincing explanation for why exactly Steven and Alyssa give up their daughter Katie, who as a result got raised by parents that aren't her biological parents.

This is a Ripped From The Headlines Lifetime Crime Drama movie that doesn't hold back from showing that Steven is an irredeemable cunning nefarious awful character much like Max Caddy from the great remake of Cape Fear or Freddy Krueger from (1984) A Nightmare on Elm Street.
The movie does give critical information that prevents him from being a terrible written ridiculous irredeemable nefarious character which is needed because this is a Ripped From The Headlines True Crime movie so Steven and the other main characters need to be believable realistic characters.

Even though it's known what is going to happen in the climax that doesn't change this is a well-written True Crime Drama movie that has an entertaining suspenseful climax.

I did enjoy that when the youngest daughter asks why is it against the law as in incest, the older daughter gives a flimsy answer "Because it is" since the youngest daughter calls out this very flimsy answer by saying "That's not a really good answer."
That is why it is not shoehorned in that the mother Alyssa explains to her inquisitive youngest daughter that a parent decides to get together with the child to have a serious relationship which isn't right since it's the parent that is making that decision which makes it the parent's fault.
Alyssa was explaining to her 2 daughters why the move was happening since Steven getting together with his biological daughter Katie is entirely wrong and against the law which is why she reported that information to the local police.
As a result, the youngest daughter got a strong answer involving substance instead of something equally as weak because "I said so" for the reason instead of a person being able to explain his or her answer.

The 2 daughters are distinguishable characters, also the actor playing the youngest daughter succeeds with good acting because she didn't have to carry the movie, and solid screenwriting since the screenwriter didn't make her an unlikable kid character.

This is a crime drama movie that deals with the dark topics of first-degree murder, suicide, incest, an abusive father, and a cunning father who knows how to take advantage of an impressionable teenager that is Katie to get exactly what he wants from her.

It isn't rose-colored glasses or ridiculous that Alyssa does find happiness with the right guy after leaving Steven since she sees the red flags that he is a dangerous man similar to other abusive husbands from Sleeping With The Enemy, Enough, etc.

The casting is great because it's very believable that Katie is Alyssa's daughter since she has the same wavy hair, also her hair is black which is the same hair color as her mother's.

Katie remains a likable character who has to deal with the aftermath after her eyes are opened that her serious relationship with Steven is disreputable, wrong, illegal, and condemnable.
Also, the movie shows her to be angry and sad since she understands that her father took advantage of her using cunning mostly and because she participated in the condemnable incest relationship.
Since she and the father were both arrested which is the believable reason for why her eyes opened is that her father took advantage of her resulting in an incest relationship which is the reason she is made aware of why she and Steve were arrested.

The movie doesn't preach to the audience to dislike Katie after the incest relationship happens, or continue to like her since the screenwriter respects the audience to come to their conclusions even though most likely she'll remain in the likable protagonist category because of being fooled and taken advantage of similar to a Swinder that tricks people to obtain a vast amount of cash illegally with cunning deceit.

Her dad who isn't the biological parent isn't in the movie much, however, he does prove to be a likable character by supporting her during her recovery time since she understands that her biological father took advantage of her.

The stakes are very high, suspense, drama, unique realistic characters that consistently act realistic, good dialogue, memorable lines, high stakes for the main conflict that can't be easily resolved, a suspenseful climax, fast pace, and the open ending is satisfying.

2024 NFL Week 12

I begin working today at 3PM so I am relaxing at Icehouse to watch the NFL 12 noon games including the Titans Texans aka Former Houston vs Expansion Houston.

The thick medium pepperoni pizza is delicious most likely because the thick pizza gets made with the best available ingredients similar to Giordano’s, UNO, and other Chicago deep dish pizzerias.

I’ll be seeing Gladiator 2 with my fraternal twin today.
It’s an epic looking direct sequel similar to Terminator 2 and Aliens, and I’m hopeful it’ll stand on its own even though it can still smoothly reuse aspects from the first movie same as what John Wick 2, Terminator 2, Aliens, Young Guns 2, and other very well made direct movie sequels after a very well made first movie.

IMG_4354.jpegIMG_4353.jpeg

I’m pretty happy that the Volunteers bulldozed the Miners because they needed this excellent rebound win, also because a mediocre Gators team upset the Rebels in the Swamp.

The brigade of loyal Cornhuskers football fans finally saw the desired prosperity since the Cornhuskers became bowl eligible by outplaying the Badgers.
The Cornhuskers fans storming the field was deserved and desired because 2016 was the last time the Cornhuskers were bowl eligible.

The Titans still have to rebuild mostly with the 2025 NFL Draft, however that doesn’t change I was pretty happy that the Titans showed “Any Given Sunday” magic by outplaying the Texans with a pretty performance including they had less miscues, Pollard as usual was as smooth as a Ferrari Testarossa, and Levis was as solid as Josh Allen even though he had 1 critical mistake which resulted in the Texans easily scoring a critical touchdown.

The rebuilding Titans saw high bar prosperity by upsetting a solid Texans team in Houston which is their signature win.

2024) Nobody Dumps My Daughter
9/10

A 2024 memorable great True Crime Lifetime movie that is similar to The Fugitive, Marked For Death, Detroit Rock City, Iron Will, Remember The Titans, (1996) Fear, POTC Curse Of The Black Pearl, Anacondas The Hunt For The Blood Orchid, The Boondock Saints, Casino, The Untouchables, Any Given Sunday, The Replacements, and other movies that use sensible literal titles that leave less to the imagination.

Jimmy breaks up with Theresa except the overbearing mother Mary won't accept the relationship is over.
The movie focuses on dark themes mainly a mother who goes overboard with her actions to attempt to get Jimmy back with Theresa which is very similar to David crossing lines to rekindle the relationship with Nicole in (1996) Fear.
I did enjoy this True Crime Drama movie has Theresa criticizing the inane destructive belief that a female's virginity can be restored by murdering the guy that took her virginity since that's something that can't get undone much like the first car a person drives after getting his or her driver's license.

While it's never stated Mary is most likely motivated by anger because she knows that Theresa losing her virginity to Jimmy isn't negative because it was consensual sex instead of the nonsensical belief that Jimmy did something predatory or dishonorable for removing Mary's virginity.

The movie provides a believable reason why Jimmy breaks up with Mary, and because of great writing, it is a smooth breakup.
Great messages in a movie that deals with dark topics, good dialogue, memorable lines, and fleshed-out characters that consistently act realistic in this True Crime drama movie, a strong conflict that can't be easily resolved, a variety of locations, a suspenseful climax with high stakes, and a satisfying open ending.

This is a True Crime Drama Lifetime movie terrifying Hit Man killing a character with a handgun which is a strength that it doesn't hold back similar to (1987) Robocop, The Running Man, Marked For Death, (1989) The Punisher, Die Hard, etc.
Anything that should be explained does get explained, and it's entirely believable why 1 main character betrays another main character because refusal would result in an undesirable long-term drawback.

Jimmy and Theresa are both shown to be realistic likable characters, and Mary is a fleshed-out terrifying character so while it will be predictable that Mary will be crossing lines of no return, although that doesn't change it's still very entertaining.

Points awarded for the mention of Young Guns 2.

I’ll always remember Chavez easily using the unique double bladed knife which he impressively spins, used it, and without any struggle continued to fight Arkansas Dave after the knife was impaled in his arm area.

Chavez showing he has an impressive high pain tolerance, and is like a Flaming Wolf or a T-800 aka cybernetic infiltration unit known as a Terminator.

The Wild Robot

8/10

This animated movie is based on the 2016 novel of the same name, also it is a Science Fiction Adventure that stands out even though it uses that familiar style story of an outsider in an unfamiliar area aka a fish out of water having to deal with struggles to adjust much like Crocodile Dundee, Beverly Hills Cop, (2011) Thor, Enchanted, etc.
This great Science Fiction animated movie deals with dark topics much like other Science Fiction movies including (1987) Robocop and The Running Man, except it succeeds at being the glass is half full because I felt great when the movie ended with its well-earned happy ending.

An impressive original movie soundtrack with songs that fit the tone of the scenes including suspenseful scenes, solid world building including what Roz can do and can't do, details about the fictional Tech Company Universal Dynamics, why humans have the motivation created All Purpose programmed Robots to achieve a stated objective, good dialogue, memorable lines, stated high stakes, flaws that don't have easy solutions, terrifying formidable main antagonists, memorable distinguishable protagonists including Fink the Red Fox and LongNeck the elderly Canada goose that is BrightBill's Ben Kenobi for teaching him how to fly, high stakes, a strong main conflict that can't be easily resolved, impressive action scenes, and a well earned happy ending.

Sad scenes did succeed making me cry because I felt sadness.

The movie has great messages about persistence and bravery, kindness, getting to brag when proven right to the naysayers, acceptance of an outsider, unintentional consequences, dealing with a dark truth, etc.

Strong writing because BrightBill is a smooth sensible name which Roz gives an orphaned runt Canada Goose.
BrightBill is a likable underdog who has to deal with struggles including he's a runt, and he is an orphan which the movie provides a strong explanation for why he is an orphan.

Anything that should get explained does get explained including a solid explanation that removes what would be an unmistakable plot hole.

The movie does have a protagonist viewing the upside of something unmistakably depressing and dreadful without it communicating to use a rose-colored glasses view.

Mark Hamil aka Luke SkyWalker is Thorn that is a badass Grizzly Bear because that is the Island's most feared predator.
The movie succeeds at using that common trope of surprising you before something different happens than what you thought which was used in The Fugitive, (1984) A NightMare On Elm Street, etc.

The movie earned the changes that happened in this movie universe because of great writing.

The movie shows no doubt that 1 character is unmistakably good-hearted because of saying valuable words to use as a solution during a suspenseful scene set during Winter.

This movie does have more than 4 distinguishable animal characters, however similar to Young Guns, Young Guns 2, X-Men, Deadpool, And Wolverine, Zack Synder's Justice League, (2003) The Italian Job, because Thorn, Paddler, and others all get chances to shine.
All the actors fit smoothly with the characters they are voicing including Bill Nighy as the Elderly Canada Goose who is very much BrightBill's Ben Kenobi since he is teaching him how to fly.

No wolf or wolves are on the Island which I'm not unhappy with because foxes are also in the Canine animal group, and Fink is a likable protagonist that is a red fox.

Roz does have impressive abilities although with limitations much like Robocop, and the reprogrammed T-800 so she won't be in the poorly written Mary Sue category protagonist since the protagonist has no struggles or flaws, also the protagonist can mostly do anything which is what makes the movie very boring to watch.
The movie does justify why Roz is known as The Wild Robot which is not shoe-horned in.

2024 College Football Saturday

Tennessee at Vanderbilt
I am very hopeful Tennessee outplays a solid Vanderbilt team that could have a great season next season if their recruits for new talented players are equal to Oregon, Ohio State, Tebow era Florida, and Louisiana State.
I’m hopeful that Tennessee scores first, and forces Vanderbilt to play catch up so that the recipe of the epic upset like they had with Alabama before Halloween Day can’t repeat even though I’m expecting Vanderbilt keeps it close since they are a solid team with a winning record that peaked vs Alabama, and their talented dual threat QB is similar to Tim Tebow.

Washington At Oregon
I am a very realistic UW Huskies fan so I’m predicting that the Ducks which are a Royal Flush aka an impressive complete team much like the Mariota era Ducks were to outplay a Huskies team that hasn’t won any road games this season despite having realistic chances mainly vs Rutgers, and Indiana since they did keep that challenging road game close even though Indiana won by more than 10.
The Ducks have a very realistic chance to finish 12-0 in a regular season which they haven’t done since the 2010 Chip Kelly Coached Ducks era so I’m expecting they hit the home run instead of choke like Charlie Brown or Wile E Coyote style.

Even though realistically the Huskies can avoid getting bulldozed and embarrassed like what happened vs a great Nittany Lions team, it is most likely the Ducks which are a better team on paper by 15 yards succeed outplaying the Huskies even if the Huskies lift the heavy weight by going toe to toe with the elite high flying Ducks to keep it close in thundering Oregon on what is a Saturday Night badass heated rivalry game on NBC.

(2024) Mormon Mom Gone Wrong: The Ruby Franke Story
9/10

Mormon Mom Gone Wrong True Crime Drama Lifetime movie stands out because Emilie Ullerup is playing an unlikable evil character Ruby Franke after a believable change because she is a likable good character before going on the very destructive path.
Ruby respects and views Jodi Hildebrandt (Heather Locklear) as a mentor because she is Ruby's spiritual guide. Jodi is a charismatic influential character much like the infamous Cult Leader Jim Jones, as a result, Ruby goes down a very dark path while fooled that she is in the right much like Anakin Skywalker.

This True Crime Drama succeeds in dealing with the dark topics of child abuse, and the house of horrors that Ruby's 12-year-old son escaped from.

Heather Locklear succeeds in portraying a realistic believable Spiritual Guide that the audience can understand while still hating Jodi since the audience can recognize that Jodi is in the wrong including her very destructive philosophy.

What is priceless is the underreaction by Jodi when she gets informed by the Local Police why they can search her House without a search warrant.
Jodi is similar to Colonel Jessup In A Few Good Men because she never states dialogue that she regrets any of her destructive dishonerable evil actions even after she is arrested for being responsible for child abuse and wrongful imprisonment of a child.

The movie succeeds showing that Ruby can return to being a likable character since she gives a long speech expressing remorse since she understands she was responsible for child abuse and wrongful imprisonment of a son that trusted her to protect him not harm him, and she is shown crying while stating remorseful words about her predatory evil actions indicating she recognizes that she regrets her evil harmful actions greatly.
I cried tears of sadness during this depressing scene.
Ruby and Jodi's view of disciplining children falls into the category of abuse not strict parenting. The movie respects the audience to understand this without preaching to the audience along with anything else that is unmistakable by visually showing it.

Ruby's husband is shown to be a likable character that is a loving husband, and it's entirely believable that a change in the marriage would happen after the dark truth get's exposed about the predatory crimes Ruby and Jodi are responsible for. Even though it's completely predictable what change is going to happen, how he decides to state that permanent change which begins with a D is honorable, commendable, and worthy of emulation.
Ruby does understand why he is doing it while still being very depressed because they had a smooth marriage before Jodi moved into the house.

The movie indicates that Ruby fears she is in the wrong when she cries after arguing with a character most likely because she understands that blunt criticism is the ugly truth, not slander, a lie, or something else that she could truthfully deny or refute.

Emilie Ullerup has repeatedly played smooth likable good characters in Nature of Love, Winter Castle, Hearts of Christmas, and other Christmas movies so she is going outside that box by playing a protagonist that becomes very unlikable and evil since Ruby is responsible for child abuse.

Transformers One
10/10

Transformers One is a great fast-moving prequel.
The main focus of this prequel is how Megatron becomes a sworn enemy of Optimus Prime, also showing their relationship progress from being close friends that are united to becoming sworn enemies because of tactics differences similar to Black Panther-Killmonger, Sinestro-Green Lantern (Hal Jordan), Jake and Alonzo of the great movie Training Day, Batman and Ras Al Ghul, Magneto and Professor Xavier, etc.

The animation is as incredible and beautiful as Green Lantern First Flight and other DC Animated Movies.
It's an open-world prequel science fiction movie since the movie shows off the diverse areas in the animated movie, the movie does a solid job of show don't tell along with explaining what should be explained so it is a very solid world-built movie similar to Man of Steel, Batman Begins, (1987) Robocop, (1990) Total Recall, The Matrix, etc.

A stunning scene that stands out is the Race scene which was mostly open-world futuristic NASCAR although more chaotic and dangerous because of a more challenging longer track area, along with the Robots using their bodies not RaceCars.

I greatly enjoyed Bumblebee as a comic relief character except he is also shown to be a competent badass protagonist including multiple action scenes showing him using the short-length blades that appear quickly above his fists

This science fiction prequel movie has good dialogue, memorable lines, a beautiful original soundtrack with songs that fit the scenes, distinguishable protagonists that have believable motivations for their achievable goals, a charismatic main antagonist that has an understandable motivation for his main goal, a group of main antagonists that also have a believable motivation for their goal, an open world that gets explored a lot for multiple diverse locations, very high stakes in this prequel, well-done comedy, consistent serious tone, impressive memorable action scenes, a very suspenseful climax, great messages including about hope and being proactive to improve the world, solid twists because of great screenwriting, a memorable terrific scene that leaves no doubt Megatron is a bitter sworn enemy of Optimus Prime, and the glass is half-full ending that was earned.

One charismatic main antagonist succeeds at being a magnificent bastard which is why it's highly enjoyable to see that main antagonist get defeated much like the main antagonist in The Running Man, (2000) Gladiator, Marked For Death, (2004) The Punisher, Blade, Cobra, etc.

Similar to X-Men, (2012) The Avengers, Deadpool and Wolverine, Star Wars Return Of The Jedi, (1990) TMNT, Young Guns, Young Guns 2, etc this is a movie where more than 3 distinguishable protagonists get chances to shine including in Action Scenes.

From start to finish, this was a fast-pace very entertaining science fiction movie similar to (1987) Robocop, The Terminator, Terminator 2, and (1990) Total Recall.
This prequel has a coherent plot with twists that make sense because of solid screenwriting.

Optimus Prime having the same colors as Superman isn't a coincidence because he was made to be very similar to that pure good super-hero that will do what's right without wanting anything in return.

The Skulls
9/10

The Skulls is an unforgettable great thriller that focuses on the dangerous Secret Society known as the Skulls.
I do enjoy that this movie has a very cool looking poster that is truthful for what the movie is about very similar to Blade, All POTC Movies, Guyver Dark Hero, Ferrari, Ford Vs Ferrari, Men Of War (1991) Point Break, The Untouchables, 48 Hours, Tango And Cash, (1987) Robocop, The Terminator, Terminator 2, Iron Will, Mystery Alaska, (2000) Gladiator, Marked For Death, Under Siege, Under Siege 2, all John Wick Movies, (1989) The Punisher, (2004) The Punisher, Drop Zone, Jaws, Remember The Titans (1991) Born To Ride and vast other movies.
Also very similar to Jaws and other movie posters, it has a scene from the movie shown on the Movie Poster.

It is a very well-written thriller movie that is fast-paced, the stakes are very high including for the nefarious charismatic main antagonist, mostly an original soundtrack with songs that fit the scenes, a variety of locations including outside of the Yale Campus area, a likable sympathetic Skull member that is Caleb which has the same negative relationship with his father similar to Norman aka Green Goblin views his son as the unworthy soon mostly because he isn't the science expert that Peter Parker is, good dialogue, existing songs are used smoothly because of fitting the scenes including Higher by Creed, memorable lines, solid world building with details about the Skulls talked about including the sensible money system for whom is paying for the Secret Society, a high stakes climax involving 2 fleshed out characters, multiple thrilling chase scenes, drama that is not contrived because of solid wrting, very entertaining action scenes, an existing mystery that gets resolved, 3 memorable distinguishable relatable protagonists that is Luke and Will which is the bromance of this movie, and Chloe that Luke's classmate and love interest, an entertaining flawed US Senator that is mostly a father to Luke even though this is never directly stated because the screenwriter respects the audience to see this detail in scenes without it being directly stated, compotent badass antagonists that do the messy work for the Skulls, a satisfying ending that is open ended similar to (2014) The Guest, the great movie remake of The Italian Job, Sky High, Hard To Kill, except didn't set up a direct sequel like Max Steel, (1993) Super Mario Brothers, Blade, X-Men, Spider Man, (1989) Batman, Batman Forever, The Matrix, John Wick 2, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, Iron Man, and multiple other movies.

Detective Sparrow played by Steve Harris that is recognizable from The Practice drama tv show isn't the focus in this movie, however he is proven to be a compotent likable character with making the most of scenes that he's in including him seeing a huge flaw for a crime scene he investigated which he states to Luke which isn't shoehorned in or contrived because of good writing.

Also, a scene that stands out is a Batman-style scene where an antagonist uses a hidden switch that results in access to an area that has recorded tapes of the Skull's monitored areas including the War room.

This is a coming-of-age movie that has Luke making the faust-style deal to get what he thinks he wants. It's believable why exactly he would give a stunning classic car that is a 1963 Red Ford Thunderbird to a friend after stating what exactly he wants in return from the group of friends that he still talks to even though they aren't going to college.

The unforgettable amazing scene that I could repeatedly watch more than 800 times in 1 day without getting bored is the new Skull Members moving fast to their fancy Sports Cars including a 1963 Red Ford ThunderBird, a 1995 Ferrari F355 Spider which has stunning pop-up headlights that get shown off after a character starts the car, then all the new Skull members are shown driving their stunning impressive Sports cars on the road.
It is mostly a promotion for the High Life leaving people wanting to get a very high-paying job so that she or he can own a 1963 Ford ThunderBird, a Ferrari Pista, any other beautiful Ferrari car, or any other expensive sports car that looks beautiful, also is impressive and charismatic because of the impressive thundering sound it makes when moving fast.

Huge nitpicks are it's very unbelievable that Luke decides to make the unwise decision to read Law School cost information while he's sitting at a table during a College Class since the Professor does see that detail instead of after the class is over.
I understand he's eager to find out the exact high cost of Law School since his main passion is to be a Lawyer which the movie fleshes out as to why other than he can make a high amount of money from that occupation.
A other obvious flaw is it's never shown what is the Skulls organization solution for keeping former members quiet if any of them decide they don't want to continue to be a Skull for Life.
Also, why exactly would they have the brand on the wrist area which is going to become visible because since a normal yearly appointment with a Doctor that inspects a patient's body to make sure no issues with the feet, hands, legs, arms, and all other parts of the body including ears, eyes, nose, etc.
Also, the whole build-up to a scene with Luke talking to Caleb doesn't have much suspense because it ends quickly while in A Few Good Men, The Lincoln Lawyer, Black Panther, Guardians Of The Galaxy 2, (2016) Doctor Strange, Under Siege, (1989) Batman, (2003) The Italian Job, The Untouchables, Training Day, Green Lantern First Flight, Two For The Money, Cobra, GhostBusters 2, (1989) The Punisher, and multiple other movies have scenes of tension between 2 characters that are well written since the scenes don't end quickly.

These are minor flaws that don't diminish the great quality of a very well-written thriller movie that is solid in all measurable areas including consistent tone, a variety of locations, great acting, fast pace, strong world-building, good dialogue, great soundtrack with songs that fit the scenes, fleshed out distinguishable characters that have believable motivations for their achievable goals, etc.
Why exactly does Luke think that a romantic relationship with Chloe won't happen is given a solid realistic explanation by him when he's talking to Will about the why. It's a explain his answer scene which satisfied me including stated information that Chloe is in the high-class money league.
Mostly it was very similar to Hooper in the masterpiece movie Jaws when he talks to Chief Brody and Brody's wife for why exactly did he become interested in studying Sharks.

Where exactly he intends to go to Law School is stated by him which isn't surprising because it's prestigious, how he makes money is shown so it's believable he has a bicycle for getting to locations instead of a car because he doesn't make enough cash with the job that he has that could afford a car.
Also, he is shown to be a compotent rower of the Rowing team which does get shown in the rowing race which is suspenseful with the multiple actors of the stated College teams doing the challenging physical work of rowing during the rowing race scene.
Luke does have a smooth short length hairstyle similar to Dean Winchester which is practical because long hair would make it challenging for him to row on a rowing team with a long hair style.

The plot is based on some conspiracy theories about the Skull and Bone's Secret Student Society.
The Skulls is a fictional movie with fictional characters, except not entirely because Skull and Bones is a real Secret Student Society located on the Yale campus area.
George W Bush, George H.W. Bush, and William Howard Taft were Skull and Bones Members before all of them became the US President during different years in United States History.
That is a factual reason that the details about The Skulls given at the beginning shown on the screen are indisputable facts not lies created by this thriller movie.

I did notice that Will and Luke have the same portable black telephone in their Dorm room that my family had in the past when telephones were very common. Also, a box of wheat thins is visible in the Dorm area during the dramatic scene of Caleb giving an unambiguous warning to Luke that he'll dig his own grave if Luke doesn't quit digging.

Anything that should get explained does get explained including a believable explanation for how Judge Litten Mandrake is able to persuade Senator Ames Levritt to change his vote for a stated change.
Judge Mandrake mostly outright states how dreadful it would be for Senator Levritt if he released this awful dark secret about Senator Levritt to the general public.
Judge Mandrake is a ruthless nefarious irredeemable antagonist except the audience can't deny he's right when stating it would be dreadful for Senator Levritt if Judge Mandrake released the abysmal dark secret of what Senator Levritt did to the general public.
It's in the whole category of this Evil Character is right trope with some stated detail which did get shown in Happy Gilmore, The Running Man, POTC Curse Of The Black Pearl, Die Hard, Training Day, The Dark Knight, Batman Begins, Black Panther, The Rock, etc.

The movie succeeds in showing scenes that the Nefarious Main Antagonist isn't a good character because 1 scene shows him shadowed while stating a dark detail that disreputable actions worked even though he agrees with the criticism the actions that worked are wrong, also he gives a believable explanation for why Skull Members didn't use a sensible solution to fix a immense flaw in response to Luke stating what a talked about main character could have done to resolve a flaw that this movie showed.
I did enjoy this movie has a character explaining his answer trope which is strong writing. The Professor gave Luke details for the critical thinking question about the United States, and Luke provided a strong explanation for his answer.

The Skulls is a stand-alone wrapped-up story that satisfied me similar to (2003) The Italian Job, (1991) Born To Ride, Turner and Hooch, The Guest, Marked For Death, Remember The Titans, The Untouchables, Any Given Sunday, Broken Arrow, Joshua Tree aka Army of One, Men of War, etc.
The Skulls has 2 sequels except those are stand-alone sequels so it isn't undoing everything the first movie achieved in other words it doesn't have the inane frustrating retcon which happened in Terminator 3, Halloween Resurrection, Halloween 5, Batman and Robin which has the inane retcon because tension between Robin and Batman makes no sense since we saw Robin and Batman began to have a smooth partnership with tension ending before Batman Forever ended, etc.
