Would it be wrong to assume Zoom is yet another version of Harrison Wells or are we looking at a completely new character/villain here?
Could be Earth-2 Barry, would explain the blue lightning (future Barry had blue lightning, may be a nod to that) and the fact Zoom is a speedster. (In the comics Zoom wasn't an actual speedster, he could speed up or slow down the "time" around himself. So no lightning when he is "running")

Malcolm (John Barrowman) arranges a meeting between Vandal, Green Arrow and The Flash that doesnt go as planned. Meanwhile, Felicity (Emily Bett Rickards), Thea (Willa Holland), Diggle (David Ramsey) and Laurel (Katie Cassidy) work with Team Flash to come up with a weapon powerful enough to destroy Vandal Savage. RUMOR: The Flash/Supergirl To Crossover!
Before you settle down to enjoy your Thanksgiving dinner, we have a couple of rumors that should make fans of DC TV very happy indeed... provided they're true, that is. Bleeding Cool reports that plans are in place for CBS to introduce the main cast of the CW's The Flash to Supergirl for a crossover episode scheduled for next May. The show was originally picked up for 13 episodes, but CBS has an option for a back nine to bring the season up to 22, and apparently they believe Supergirl will need the ratings boost a meeting with the Scarlet Speedster would no doubt provide.
Obviously it could be a while before we find out if any of this is on the level, but keep an eye out for any updates that might come our way.
Kevin Smith To Direct The Flash

Smith is no stranger to comics his Comic Book Men reality show on AMC chronicles the goings-on at the comic book store Smith owns in New Jersey. Also at the CW TCA panel today, the network announced that superhero animated series Vixen has been renewed for a second season on streaming service CW Seed. Its star, Megalyn Echikunwoke, will reprise her character in live-action form on the CWs Arrow.
