Wally West is racing to The CWs hit DC Comics series, The Flash, as Keiynan Lonsdale joins the cast as a new season two regular!
The small screen DC Universe continues to expand today with the announcement, straight from DC Comics proper, that The Divergent Series star Keiynan Lonsdale has joined the cast of The CWs hit series, The Flash. Lonsdale will play none other than Wally West in the shows second season!
Wally West, who made his first appearance in 1960s The Flash #110, was created by John Broome and Carmine Infantino. The nephew of Iris West (played on the series by Candice Patton), Wally West became, in the comics, the Kid Flash after an accident similar to the one that befell Barry Allen. Later on, Wally West wound up taking on the identity of The Flash himself following DCs Crisis on Infinite Earths.
Just like when we met Grant [Gustin] for the first time, we instantly knew Keiynan embodied all the heart and courage of a hero, says Executive Producer Andrew Kreisberg. We are so excited to be bringing this much-beloved character onto the show.
Wally West is far from the only familiar comic book character set to appear in The Flash season two. Following a pretty epic first season finale, the series has revealed that it will explore the multiverse and will introduce another famous speedster when Teddy Sears (Masters of Sex, Raising the Bar), guest stars as Jay Garrick. Best known to comic book readers as the original, Golden Age Flash, the characters iconic hat made a brief appearance in the season one finale.
Based on the characters from DC Comics, The Flash is from Bonanza Productions Inc. in association with Berlanti Productions and Warner Bros. Television. The series returns for season two on Tuesday, October 6, at 8/7c on The CW.
No. Lol. I think I remember seeing commercials but never watched it and it hasn't been on Netflix.
Just got excited when I saw this. Been watching lots of super hero stuff. How was season 1?

Last week, the CWs big superhero hits Arrow and The Flash kicked off their new respective seasons with big setups as Barry Allen will face the new evil known as Zoom while Oliver Queen has to deal with the mysterious Damien Darhk.
However, it appears that the emerald archers new enemy will be crossing path with the rest of the DC/CW Universe. Comicbook.com broke the news today that Neal McDonugh, who is currently playing the new baddie on Arrow, will be showing up on The Flash as well as the upcoming DCs Legends of Tomorrow series. In an interview with the actor, he revealed that he has already filmed something on the new spin-off series and his experience on The Flash.
You go back to the League I did an episode of Legends last week and I look exactly the same in 1975 but you see hes not as confident and doesnt have such an agenda forty years ago as he does now. So its fun to play the different times, you know? Going back in time with Legends, and The Flash, with The Flash, Im just this crazy, fun, enjoy everything while I kill everybody type of character. Its just nuts. Im enjoying the power that I have because its my time. Its not Savages time, its not Ras al Ghuls time; its Damien Darhks time.
The Flash and Arrow airs on Tuesday and Wednesday nights respectively, both at 8/7c on The CW. DCs Legends of Tomorrow will premiere in mid-season of 2016.
He also clearly has the firestorm powers and I think that's what Dr. Stein is reacting to.
