The Foreign Trade Thread

We've only agreed to talk with Japan, and we're not even that far along with the UK, because they've not figured out what they're doing with Brexit.

We're doing business with both. Bilateral deals will quickly be struck when they're ready. We're focused on China right now. Once the UK follows the will of their citizens and ditches the globalist's NWO EU, they'll make quick work of making it official. Trump's team is being very reasonable with our allies. Free trade is the objective... Trump could push for deals even more favorable to the US with the leverage that he has. It's the art of the deal. Winning!

Deals with Germany, France, and Italy won't come quickly since they're still part of the EU's globalist agenda. Ferrari's won't be in everybody's driveways for a while. Not everybody will have an Audi like Socialist Bernie's.

Meanwhile, in the real world.

Turnbull celebrates as landmark TPP-11 pact takes effect

American wheat and beef producers have been particularly unhappy about being left out of the deal, expecting Australian and Canadian farmers to use their TPP advantage to sell more to Japan.

"Japan is generally a market where we seek to maintain our strong 53 per cent market share, but today we face an imminent collapse," US Wheat Associates President Vince Peterson told a public hearing held by the US Trade Representative earlier this month.

"Frankly, this is because of provisions negotiated by (former US president Barack Obama's administration) for our benefit under the Trans-Pacific Partnership.

"Our competitors in Australia and Canada will now benefit from those provisions, as US farmers watch helplessly."

*yawn* 😴😴😴

You really need to find a way to claim a tax deduction for lost rent on Trump living in your head.

U.S. Beef Exports By Country (Year-to-Date)

The United States has exported 2.63 billion pounds of beef so far in 2018, up 12.3% from 2017.

Japan is the top destination for U.S. beef exports so far in 2018 followed by South Korea & Mexico.

The United States has exported beef to 115 different countries so far in 2018.

Whoops. The US just came off of a record setting $850B holiday sales season... and China’s manufacturing sector still contracted.

But China really doesn’t need the US consumer economy, the largest in the world, and can easily make up the lost exports elsewhere 😏

China's manufacturing sector contracts

Smart move by Japan. It's dumb to be dependant on one source for over half of their food options.

Good for the US to not over farm their acreage. Cattle creates too much water pollution as it is and scaling back on that production is better in the long run.

MAGA

I guess... except total US beef production is not in decline. Well not anymore since Barry left office. Basically the tweet copied above is FOS

Great news! Unless you're an AAPL stock holder. Oops. Another trade war victory.

Nothing to do with Trump and everything to do with China telling/ordering their citizens to not buy Samsung or Apple but buy local. But of course that doesn’t fit your narrative so rage on.

Point being if China does falter (which you're seemingly cheering for) it's going to drag the entire global economy downward. But I guess it will be worth it if Trump tweet proclaims a "victory."

Nope. What I’m pointing out is due to China’s current economic situation Trump is negotiating from a position of power. I could care less what Trump tweets you idiots are the ones that focus on that.

Oh and F China.

Apple deserves to tank. Poor strategy on their part to be reliant on China. It's also stupid to assume that the sheep will keep flocking to their stores and the wireless providers to spend $1,000 and up every year for a new phone. It's horse sh!t that they stop supporting the operating systems shortly after ceasing to sell each line of phones. They want to transform into a services company, but also expect consumers to keep buying new phones... even when they've added no new significant features. It is a cheap stock however. Down 40% and another 5-10% coming off tonight. I might buy a few shares for the long haul... but it's not the same company minus Rubenstein (the Pod Father) and Jobs driving their innovative initiatives.

So wait a damn minute. Earlier in 2018 when Trump is trying to lighten the strain on the Chinese telecom electronics company Trump is an evil bastard siding with the Chinese against the US. Now that the Chinese are imploding in their own Trump is an evil bastard for executing a strategy to harm the Chinese economy and thus indirectly the US economy.

You damn idiots have TDS so freaking bad you cannot stay on point with your own freaking stupid narratives!

Just found this video remarkably consistent with everything he's done since taking office.

He's a liar. You can't believe anything he says. He didn't really mean any of that. He was setting up a run for President many years later, knowing somebody would find that tape.

That's right. On trade he hasn't changed his tune a bit since the '80s (protectionism), even though the world is much different now.

So how did his prediction that Japan was going to take over the U.S. turn out?

Wtf does that have to do with anything Trump has done since taking office?

I personally don't care about off the mark predictions from 35 years ago.

I do care about what is being done today to improve the US economy and our long term economic future.
