The Future (at QB)

No one wants Milton to fail. The guy has been as good a teammate as you can ask for. As nice as he is though, he can have off games. He can get injured. If Jackson isn’t ready to push Milton for playing time we need someone who is. I just want the best qb room possible. Really would like to see Milton play to his potential though, I think everyone would.

Yup. He's still way to Skinny to throw a football with accuracy and on time.
According to his High School coach, he just as good if not better than Bryce Young coming out of High School. Guess what? That’s the same coached Young in High School also. I’ll take his word over the average fan.

His potential is limitless. He has shown what he is capable of. He has also shown that he can make every drive an adventure. But I don’t care what his stats look like at the end of the day, as long as he finds a way to win. I’m cautiously optimistic that he can do that.

Man I really want Milton to come in and ball out. He’s just a special man; it’s easy to see. On top that, he has the God given ability that 99.9% of QBs wish they had. I know we all are hoping and rooting for him to put it all together next year. I really really want to see him succeed. Let’s go Joe!

Hendon Hooker was special, but that doesn’t mean Milton can’t be very good. I think people will be unfair to Milton if he’s not as good as Hooker. I will be rooting hard for him.

Definitely will be

I just hope he is decent. I “want” him to be good and to earn the starting spot and play well all year (next). If he can get just some “touch” on the ball I think he will be just fine (touch: not so strong with the short to intermediate passes and maybe not so leading with the long balls).

Seems like such a good young man.

Milton has it 2 fold, on criticism. Folks are going to compare him to Hooker, and whatever expectations they have for his "potential". That last one is a bear, because he has every physical tool a QB could ask for.

Dude is already in a pressure cooker. Hook responded to it under Coach Heupel. Hopefully Joe will too.

If nothing else, he's gonna be a good influence on Nico as he integrates into the Tennessee culture.

I hope Milton plays lights out. He absolutely has every physical tool to be as good as he wants to be. However, he has to produce on the field, which in his time at Michigan and here has lacked consistency in both performance and decision making. I’m rooting for him to be his best.

This shows that Milton cares about the football program as a whole, not a guy just using Tennessee buying time to get to the NFL. I’m sure he knows Nico has the potential to beat him out and yet taking time to show him the ropes.

If he can learn to consistently made good reads and put a little air under the long ball, he’s gonna be a top pic.
Pulling for his success as well.

All you Goobers making fun of Milton should have been sitting with me in the cold rain a couple weeks ago in Nashville watching Milton lead a 56-0 victory over a Vandy Team who'd the previous 2 weeks beaten Florida & Kentucky.

oh...and... your wife/girlfriend wants Milton over you, too!

When Hooker hooked up with Hoople there was a generational resonance in the football cosmos. Whoever follows Hooker at UT will not have an easy road with the fans. Milton is giving his all, and that’s all we can ask. Keep the wins coming Coach and let the best man win the QB1 slot. It’s Milton’s job to lose but he’ll do well I expect, with a whole roster and our coaching staff behind him.

That was the last time Tennessee beat Nick Saban before this year, when Hyatt also set records.

Why? Why make comments like that? Can you do better?

Personally I think this statement is funny. I guess I am naive, but I didn't think the poster was being critical. Guess this comes from being able to laugh at or make fun of mishaps and the such I make. (not always immediately but usually ater a little time)

geez thin skin on here. I thought it was funny 😆

Not thin skinned in any way, just supportive of our players. You never know who might read these posts, a little support can go a long way to confidence, which leads to better play.

Not to mention the fact that my granddaddy taught me not to bash people about things I can't do myself.

Too many people here are 100% negative all the time, must be miserable living that way.

Be critical all you want if you can do better. Can you or the OP throw a football better than Milton?
