The Future (at QB)

Oh, the words "couldn't be better than clemson at this point" had me confused
Meaning Milton was our season backup force in due to HH’s injury, now bowl game is 1st real game where we need the “backup” QB Milton to shock the world! 🤣🙏

Looks like Nico needs a year or two in the strength and conditioning program.
First time I seen someone stand at the same height as Milton now just needs to add some muscle on his legs to protect those knees and put some on the arms to look scary and some around the chest for protection.

Milton showing Nico where he accidentally put a hole in the wall with a wayward throw.
Come on man. We all know Milton's not living up to his potential, but the guy has been nothing but gracious since he got on campus. You don't owe him a thing, but he's done everything right off the field.

Self-nicknames (that didn’t catch on) don’t count. Ask Ms. butchna about The Amazing Tireless Love Monster.
OK, so what about the "Amazing Tireless Love Monster"?

No.. Wait.... On second thought, I don't think I want to know..... 😎

You left some critical information out. He needs to control short passes too and that’s also a big problem. If he can’t get his touch measured out on all passing distances, he has no future as a QB.

STATS 2022

CMP ATT CMP% YDS AVG TD INT LNG RTG
34---- 54- 63.0--- 720- 13.3- 7- 0---- 64 217.7

I would say he has a better shot at success as a QB than many do as becoming rational posters.

Guessing you also bought into the myths he ran out of bounds to avoid contact last year and way over threw that under elevated receiver in the endzone.

Those charges went on forever and were cyber backslapped to death... However the video evidence is to the contrary... see below

Objectivity is a terrible thing to waste.

I believe Milton has earned the full support of Vol fans and the coaches have earned our confidence in their decisions.
There is nothing to be gained from negativity and creating a quarterback controversy where there is none.

still several losers on here that are Milton haters. Win or lose, I support Joe and hope (and expect) he will have a good showing against Clemson.

I think Joe will take UT to a double digit winning season next year. 10-2

Like they say, "There is nothing like a good joke", and trust me that was not a good joke! Not offended. Just didn't think it was funny. ;)

Milton faces a double whammy.

He'll be compared to Hooker on every play. I'm old enough to recall Randy Wallace who followed Condredge Holloway. He was a good QB but he wasn't Holloway. TN went 7-5 and people bitched about Wallace. Holloway went 7-3-2 and was great. Milton can't win following Hooker.

The second whammy is Milton won't have Hyatt or Tillman to throw to. That's not to say Bru, Squirrel, and others may not ball out, but Hyatt had an All-American year. Every pass will have that "Hyatt and Hooker would've connected for 6 on that...." commentary. (At least Randy Wallace still had Seivers in 1976.)

Cut the man some slack. He's not Hooker, but Randy Wallace was a dang fine QB.

As the saying goes never be the guy that replaces the legend. Be the guy who replaces the guy who replaced the legend.

All you Goobers making fun of Milton should have been sitting with me in the cold rain a couple weeks ago in Nashville watching Milton lead a 56-0 victory over a Vandy Team who'd the previous 2 weeks beaten Florida & Kentucky.

oh...and... your wife/girlfriend wants Milton over you, too!
I was there with about 12 family members. Great game, the weather was not, but the obnoxiously loud speaker system was much worse.

He sat behind Mac Jones. As I don't see a Mac Jones equal on our roster, that's not a valid comparison is it?
There was nothing impressive in what Mac Jones put on the field after Tua got knocked out…in a much larger sample size. He obviously got better when it was his show. There were many predictions that the smallish 5 star from California would be an immediate starter…🤔

As I recall there WERE questions and second guessing of Saban about his QB choice...... while Alabama went undefeated and won a Natty with Mac Jones.

As I recall, he held quite a few NCAA and Alabama QB records when he left.

According to his High School coach, he just as good if not better than Bryce Young coming out of High School. Guess what? That’s the same coached Young in High School also. I’ll take his word over the average fan.
He's a taller version of him

You do the math on that...

Yeah…AFTERWARDS. Funny, that outplaying fans predictions thing.

Have a few plays designed with both of these guys in the backfield at same time. Maybe Milton at RB. Almost guaranteed to make the opponent burn a timeout at a minimum 😂
