The game misses Pat Summitt

we are talking about today... not 30 yrs ago

everything starts from somewhere but there's also the current state of things. Geno is current, lets no fool ourselves

It's time to stop living in the past--stop reminiscing about the old days. I think it will take a new, youngish, sharp coach for this program to turn the corner and face the future.

When Pat left the WCBB stage, the world took notice. She not only represented UT, she represented all women's college sports at all colleges. To say she is not missed is asinine.

It is odd that instead of commenting about Pat in a positive way, a lot of posters would rather talk trash about Geno. That is so sad. All the constructive things Pat has done for women's college athletics, WCBB and TENN and some would prefer to trash talk UCONN. Pat became the epitome of the great WCBB coach. Her dedication to her team was second to none and if people only knew one person connected to Women's Basketball it would have been Pat Summit. By the way, the first person to write a check for the Pat Summit Foundation was Geno Auriemma.

... because he was the first person asked to by Danielle Donehew, Director of Pat's Foundation and former assoc Big East commissioner. It was a big thing for Geno to do and we should all be happy about it, but it was arranged that way.

Pat left a void in women's sports that hasn't been filled. She set a televised example of a woman leading, succeeding, commanding respect, and extending a hand to others. She showed another way a woman could turn heads. The world needs more women like her.
