Not at all what I said but good try. Ask any driver and they will tell you what they think of the restrictor plates, but hey who would know more than Mike Helton.

Not what he said or I said. You are being difficult. Earnhardt had the same opinion as 95% of the drivers now do, take the restrictor plates off and let the best driver rise to the top.

NASCAR is now a show. It's about catering to the fair-weathered fans. They want to see everyone jumbled up for a "big one". These are the same fans that have only been following for a few years and will soon jump ship. The drivers sure don't want to stay grouped up for 500 miles.

I don't even know if I can put into words how lousy I feel after watching that crap this afternoon. People used to call restrictor plate "pack" racing an abomination. Well, today we witnessed an abomination. This is unnatural and it stinks to high heaven.

I don't watch plate races to see "the big one" but I do like watching guys work their way through a pack of cars and use the draft and pick their spots. This stuff today and last Saturday night both have just made my stomach turn. I hope to God NASCAR does something about this by Sunday. Its obvious the teams have prepared all winter to do this type of push drafing and the small changes they made early in the week didn't help. At this point I'm not sure what else they could do to the cars themselves. So, I say NASCAR should tell the drivers NO push drafting. If you want to bump a guy and come off of their bumper that is fine but no push drafting will be allowed.

Even in the big pack racing there was skill needed. A guy had to pick his spots and the cream of the crop still would rise to the top. I have nothing against Brian Keselowski but his run to 5th should show everyone that with the right pusher it don't matter how good your car is. It was a 5 year old Evernham car that even he half admitted was junk until little brother got attached to him.

And with the pusher not being able to see when the guy in front has to check up if they let this continue Sunday they'll likely have "the big one" on a restart or the start of the race anyhow. They have been lucky with the crashes so far mostly just being single car accidents.

The 2000 Daytona 500 that prompted NASCAR to adopt the sweeping changes that made the next two years worth of plate races crazy as they ever were STILL would beat this two car crap. They had to maneuver their way through a pack and yes it was hard to pass but if you had drafting help you could pull out with a group and make a run. Now you have to have one car, any car, and you can go anywhere.

And is it really fair that the Fords don't seem to overheat and have to swap out when the Chevy's, Toyota's, and Dodge's do? Not anything against Ford but if two Fords can hook together and be able to stay attached while the others are having to switch will give them a huge advantage over long runs in the race.

I don't know what NASCAR can do and maybe I'm in the minority here on this forum in hating this with a purple passion but I do and hope and pray that NASCAR does something to eliminate these two car freight trains come Sunday. If not it will be the most agonizing 500 in history. And yes, I could turn the channel or not watch but this is the race that I look forward to most every season and it pains me to think that potentially one of the best 500's in history may be one of the worst due to this tag team racing - and I use the word racing loosely in this context.
I totally disagree. I think this is way more exciting than one big pack, or a six car breakaway where they play follow the leader for 50 laps.

Why does Michael Annett in Nationwide Series move with the Pilot sponsorship? Rusty, his car owner, says the reason he is racing so soon after his DWI is that they couldn't afford to run without him...

Anybody know?

Annett and Pilot are basically a package deal.

the point is, it doesn't matter what Earnhardt thinks. he's not here.

as for what the other drivers think, when was the last time one of them sat a out a plate race?
 
Yea that is why Nascar is having to turn people away at the gates, because there are so many people wanting to watch the crap that they produce.

Turning people away at the gates? Have you watched a race lately? There are a ton of empty seats at most races. Attendance is NOT what it used to be. Alot of fans/exfans such as myself dont care much for the watered down racing that they are putting out there.
