The glorious lives of the dinks!

Not to discourage anyone but my two boys don’t weigh us down at all.

4 weekends this summer at Pickwick, a trip to Nashville, 2 trips to the beach with 2 kids, many more planned.

I wouldn’t trade my life for anything, I wish I would’ve had kids sooner!

Beautiful happy wife, beautiful happy kids, my wife and I had great vacations for the first 6 years of our relationship without kids. Sure the list is long on what and where want to go, but we would never consider not taking the boys with us anywhere, the journey is the reward.

Dude..... I am a construction superintendent. I work all week long , then go home to get other tools to work side jobs to make ends meet and then some. My trips take months to save for (to save 1 or 2k) but I am by no means rich......

We're taking the opposite approach and hoping it pans out haha. I'm 32 with a 5, 3 and 6mth old so by the time our last is out of college, I'll be mid to late 50's and we can hopefully spend some money on ourselves!

Brother I'm 34, and have four kids with my wife. We married at 18 and 20. Our youngest will be out of the house when I'm 44...... it will pan out.

Is the point of this thread to brag about how “free” you are without kids or just share pics and stories about cool places you’ve visited (that aren’t a theme park)?

I feel like this thread is mocking me. I have 3 kids and spend my free time at practices and ball games

I do 40 hours/month of contract work on the side and it's not like I have all this extra cash for kids laying around. There is no way I'm doing that extra work if I have kids. I feel I would have to give them lots of attention and I just don't like being that busy. I feel like I would be a lazy Dad if I kept up my habits of extra work, hitting the gym every day, doing fun projects, etc. I'd have to give up some of that stuff, forget about cutting out video games, TV shows, and all the sports I love to watch.

I'll probably adopt in a few years and be an old Dad once I'm much more established. I don't want to be a Dad until I can put the time into it.

Everyone feels like a lot of things until you have kids. Once you have them whether you wanted them or they were a surprise, things change drastically and you learn to mold your life to make it all work. I promise it'll all work out regardless if you have them or not.

Since having kids I quit playing video games and watch a lot less TV and movies. Don’t miss either.... like at all. The only game I feel like I’m missing out on over the past 6 years is the Zelda that came out recently. If there is a show or movie I REALLY want to see I’ll make time for it. Otherwise none of that is important to me anymore. I don’t say that to be judgey. It’s just the priorities in your life change and that’s not necessarily a negative.

It would be nice to have more time for side projects/hobbies but that’s about the only thing I “regret”. I also know that will return as my kids get a little bigger and more independent. I can wait.

Ultimately I don’t begrudge anyone that wants to live a childless life. To each his own y’know. I don’t get the point of trying to justify ones choice of no kids by acting like their life is better than those with kids (that’s a general statement and not directed at ‘huff).

We want kids, we're trying to have kids, but we are not very good at making them. We lost one last Spring and it has really impacted our marriage, so we are having fun traveling and if it works it works.

I don't have any kids myself. But I'll tell you this from working in the NICU for 4 years. Don't stress it man. I've seen plenty of couples who didn't think they could have a child, have one. Just keep your faith.

I appreciate it man. I can’t imagine working in NICU, that’s got to be incredibly tough. My wife is a nurse and did some training there and told me some stories.
