That's insane to have been around 6 aces in 12 years. I've been playing about 30 years including about 10 years of what I would consider hardcore competitive golf and I've never witnessed one much less had one myself.They are rare indeed, I've been playing for 12 years now and I've had 2 aces and witnessed 4 others.

The insult to injury continues. I found out today that my prize for closest to the pin was . . . a belt?? Not a gift certificate. Not a dozen balls. A stinkin' green belt!?

I've been playing 15 years, off and on, and have only witnessed one. (not mine, sadly.) Gotten within an inch, literally, and two or three more inside a foot. (one last week, damn it.) It's luck and chaos theory in action. Kind of like how if you win the lottery, and play it again next week, you're just as likely to win it again as anyone else. You've never had one after 30 years of playing, yet you're liable to reel off 2 or 3 in the next year.
