The Golf Thread

Which course? St. Andrews is the name of a town. That's not a course name.

I am sure you mean The Old Course
Glad your clarified that. I never thought of the Old Course. The first ones that come to most people's minds are the Castle Course, New Course, Jubilee , Eden , Strathtyrum, and Balgove. I figured for sure he was playing one of those when he mentioned St. Andrews.

Stop.

Both of you.

At least you now know that St. Andrews is the name of a town.

Lol... Only on VN can you fail to be clear about an "at" in a golf thread and get called out on it.

Sorry I didn't get to respond sooner. I was busy having the time of my life. It was awesome.

Did it look like you thought it would? Did you take it over the hotel on the Road Hole , or do you have to play different tees?

Took it straight over the hotel and faded it. Thought I was going to bounce it off the lobby, but it somehow caught the extreme right side of the fairway. You can't believe how crazy the angle is off the tee and how much the fairway wraps around the building. On the approach, the flag was 45 on!?! I tried to bounce a 6 iron in, but it got into a slope and stopped and left me with well over a 100 foot putt. I got it within about 8 feet and lipped the par putt.

Here's the evidence. It was striking how much greener it was than I thought it would be.

Hole of the day was the par 5 14th. I blew the drive dead right and out of bounds. Then drove it in the fairway and nearly holed out from 250 yards and tapped in for the best par I've ever made.

How good are the caddies?

How good are the caddies?

Pure entertainment. My caddy was named Ian and his girlfriend just moved to Atlanta. He went on and on about how great Waffle House and Dunkin Donuts were when he visited and was shocked when I described Krispy Kreme. I spent a majority of my time between shots inciting the caddies and making them argue with each other.

They also know every square inch of the course. You don't do anything but listen and hit it... until you disagree and Everybody starts giving crap to each other.

I did play "The World Tour" in Myrtle beach this summer, and they have 2 holes from St. Andrews. So I kind of played part of it.
