The Golf Thread

Yes, I was almost burnt out on it after high school. We played there so much. Played a lot at Baileyton, River Trace, and Twin Creeks. Also got to play Buffalo Mountain and Red Tail.

I heard Link Hills underwent a big renovation and now is hoping to increase their membership. Graysburg is just the best overall course for the money around.

I really want to join Holston Hills in Knoxville. But I'm young and it's a lot to pay a county club price just for golf and no spouse or kids.
Holston Hills is a great layout. Chris Dibble, Bob's son who grew up at Link Hills, is head pro.

Yes, I was fortunate enough to play Holston Hills about a month ago and talked to Chris quite a bit since we both were from Greeneville.

Has anyone played Johnson City Country Club?

Koepka having a strong first day at The Open. My boss not being here is also making this a very unproductive day for me today.

There is still a long way to go, and trouble is out there.

Appears you are right, great round by Haotong Li. Speith dropped 3 and tied with Kucher now. Side note, shot an 87 at pine oaks today. Can't really be disappointed but upset with how I started the back 9 got frustrated on 10 and lost focus. Should of been in the low 80s

I am a fan of Spieth, but he has shown in the past that he has some choke in him. I remember him making a double on about the 70th or 71st hole when he won the U.S. Open, and I remember him hitting 2 in the water on 12 when he was leading at Augusta on Sunday. He looks very uncomfortable out there today, especially on short putts.

I may be moving to the Knoxville surrounding area, I'll be looking for some golfers! And also, a job? Weird, random, and probably not the right thread, but anyone hiring?

The push cart is awesome (not that I have anything to compare it to). It's a little darker blue than it was in the pic, but I like it.

Played 9 after work. Had a par (and 1 birdie, which I made, putt on 7 holes). Ended up with a 46, by far my best score on the front 9 here on post.

Shot a 91 today really up down round. Didn't play the front great. Then had 3 birdies on the back 9. Putting has been really good but iron play is not very good right now.

Push cart was the best investment I've made in golf. I like to walk, and in most places cart fees are obnoxious

There was a 20% off sale and I had $50 in store credit. It'll pay for itself in 6-7 rounds.

I don't mind walking. You're right about cart fees. Basically doubles the price easily at most courses.
