The Golf Thread

I stay in touch with the ex because of our son, but Laurie and I talked often. She loved to argue politics with me
Her obituary mentioned that she was a Democrat, and requested donations to NPR. I didn't know that you had a child. My ex-wife and I had no children in a 10 year marriage, and I moved away from where she is, and I haven't heard from her in 35 years. I would never know if her sister died. I wouldn't know if she did.

Our child is 29. Have another one who is 20

I absolutely love the Ryder Cup and enjoyed Valhalla more than any "tournament" I've ever been to. But, the Presidents Cup just seems like an Exhibition match that means zero. I just can't get into it. I'll watch this afternoon, with the volume on low and napping on the couch.

Side note..............Shame on Tiger and Ernie NOT pairing Patrick Reed and Cameron Smith in singles! Boooooo!

If the internationals won sometimes this would generate more excitement and interest. And it is still fairly new when compared to the Ryder cup. Hopefully the internationals continue to produce better players.

I love all team competitions.

I usually don’t care about Presidents Cup, but I really like watching golf at Royal Melbourne.

Love the fact that they are letting "Mother Nature" dictate the conditions. Brown (grass) is good sometimes.
I grew up playing on brown grass and rock hard fairways in the Summer. The original 9 holes at Link Hills was designed by Robert Trent Jones, and he had no forced carries, except on the steeply uphill number 2. All traps were to the sides to allow runup shots. They added the 2nd 9 in about 1966 or so.
