The good days of rap

Biggie > 2pac - Disagree

Eminem = GOAT - Strongly disagree

Dr Dre = best producer - Can't really say I know enough about actual producing to declare who the best is but I personally have always preferred 9th Wonder

NWA = Best group - Love NWA but most of their songs were fairly basic and not exactly filled with lyrical geniuses. I'd go with a bit of a wildcard and say Freestyle Fellowship

Notorious Thugs = best rap song ever - I honestly have no clue how you can pick an individual song as the "best ever" but I'd probably say the one rap song I've listened to more than any other is Shook Ones by Mobb Deep.

KRS One 9mm

Now this I can most definitely agree with. It always depresses me when KRS is never brought up in the discussion of greatest ever.

I was always a big Tupac and DMX fan.

He didn't really have too much longevity but when his first album came out gritty and dirty as hell during an era of shiny suits, neon lit music videos, and diamond mouth pieces it seemed like a completely different animal. It's Dark and Hell is Hot is still one of my favorite albums.

Great album, problem is, he practically re-released a weaker variation of it his whole career.

Yeah, there were some songs on the second album that I liked as well but that was pretty much it.

It's dark and hells hot, and flesh of my flesh blood of my blood were great.

And then there was X was decent. After that it was all downhill.

"You can talk ****, but you can't MC. No one cares how much your watch is worth, why don't you talk about helping the hurt, saving the church."

Although it was from a later album I like that line. He rejected the disturbing materialism seen in most present day rap.

I got a list here's the order of my list that it's in.
It goes Reggie, Jay-Z, Tupac and Biggie, Andre from OutKast, Jada, Kurupt, Nas and then me.

Biggie > 2pac

Eminem = GOAT

Dr Dre = best producer

NWA = Best group

Notorious Thugs = best rap song ever

I like NWA but they don't even come close to my top group.

In no particular order I would put these groups above NWA:

A Tribe Called Quest
Outkast
Wu Tang
Beastie Boys
De La Soul
RUN DMC
Public Enemy
Black Star

And that's just of the top of my head.

NWA is just one of my favorites. I can admit that Wu Tang, Run DMC, and the Beastie Boys are ahead of them though.

Annnnnnd OutKast is miles ahead of anyone else. Also, Goodie Mobb was legit.

GOAT-Nas
Group-OutKast
Producer-Kanye
Song-Life's A B****

This is my list minus song, too hard for me to pick one.

Nas is a lyrical genius.

I remember hearing Git Up, Git Out on BET and going straight to get Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik. Players Ball hooked me on them, their ability to evolve and still be great makes them GOAT group. IMO

People can hate Kanye but you can't deny his brilliance.
