The best thing about them is they are very set and forget. You can make some great Q in the better ones. If you live somewhere that won't let you use charcoal or burn wood they are a good option. Given the choice I would go with a charcoal, wood, or a pellet smoker personally. But, if you do your research and buy a good electric, there is nothing wrong with them. If you want easy (set and forget), most pellet smokers, The Pit Barrel Cooker, The Orion Cooker, and The Barrel House cooker are all good options that use charcoal/wood. But, again a quality electric will do the job admirably if you're set on that route. The link already posted shows plenty of good options in electric.
My first smoker was an electric Masterbuilt and it was a good way to see if you’ll want to do more (you will!). Sam’s has the MBE 40 for $100 off Black Friday. You can order it online for $229 if you’re a member.
Was in East TN this weekend for an early Thanksgiving and made the turkey. It was the bomb! I had too much liquid in my roasting pan and I had to modify it a little after pulling the turkey. But It turned out well. The gravy with the turkey "crud" and white wine is the shizz-nitz!
