Absolutely..Gruden is absolutely my first choice but if thats not possible Strong is definitely my next choice. Dont understand the Petrino BS going around on other threads. Zero chance in hell he ever coach's at UT. There's no way that chance could be taken, all the negatively it would cause, not many mom's are going to get won over in the living room.and his teams dont play defense. Only SEC team I could see him at is UK or Vandy.

Coach Strong would do well at UT. Players absolutely love playing for him unlike Mullen. He was by far the most popular coach at UF. His players would have run through a brick wall through him. He also is a hell of a recruiter which Mullen is not. He was much more responsible for UF's 2 national championships than people give him credit for.

He is the only realistic candidate I can think of that wont turn UT into bama jr.
He can recruit, and run a D. He has developed some experience as an HC at ul. He just really needs a good O staff to make it work IMO.

I'd be super-pumped if Gruden accepted. But I'd still be pumped if Strong or Patterson were the next HC. Briles or Horgenson (Sp?) would be good choices as well.
