I know it's still the Big East, but that is definitely not the same situation as hiring a coach out of a WAC school with a terrible record.

Dooley was a losing coach at a WAC school. Strong is a WINNING coach at a Big East school.

I know it's still the Big East, but that is definitely not the same situation as hiring a coach out of a WAC school with a terrible record.

The big thing about Strong is just how well he has managed to recruit to Louisville...who was just as deep in the doldrums as we have been, or worse. They could go 11-1 or 12-0. That's saying something. I liked Strong as a possible candidate the first time around. Even more sold on him after this season.

I think Gruden would be the Grand Slam (especially if he could convince his brother Jay to join him as OC and assistant HC), as it would instantly put the program back in the spotlight, nationally. Strong would be Homerun with one RBI, hire, IMO.
