That reminds me of the thread started right after the Kansas victory. It showed Pearl and Kiffin embracing and was titled “True Vols”. What a frikin joke. These guys are paid mercenaries.

I remember that....and it was what, the very next day Kiffin left?

BTW, I like Bruce too, but I refuse to be a blind sheep over it.

I'm just not into hero worship. Sorry. He isn't the basketball program. If he gets a better opportunity, he'll take it. And that's okay. Also, he isn't in the top 10 coaches nationally. I'm okay with that, but I don't see why so many try to claim otherwise.

I like Bruce.

I like that he's colorful and quotable and in the right situations will say what he really thinks whether PC or not.

I am glad and thankful for what Bruce has done for the program.

I do think Bruce had a bit of complacency set in after the 07-08 season. I don't think he was as hungry. I think the team fed off that. I think the issues of the team this year and being able to play the underdog card reenergized him and thus the team.

I do think he's figured out SEC east titles are not enough to keep the fans happy.

I still think he could sell some of you ice if you were eskimos.

I think he would be gone in a heartbeat if the right program came calling and don't kid myself to believe otherwise.

I think I am being cautiously optimisitc about this team over the next 2-4 weeks.

I agree 100%. My point is some don't like him and they let their dislike of him cloud their objectivity concerning his coaching ability.

Your opinion only on where he ranks nationally. I think he is top ten, barely, but still there. I think if you polled a group of former players, coaches and analysts, Pearl would make their top ten. There is no queston guys like Bobby Knight think he can coach.

Also, I think there are only two or three programs he would leave UT for because I think it is more likely he leaves for the NBA than another college program

We did, but he had to clean up the mess left by Peterson. Btw, we would of made the elite 8 the year we played Ohio St if we didn't get shafted by the refs. Real talk.

Bruce Pearl is a perfect fit for UT--UT is a perfect fit for him. I don't think he is going anywhere. His style would not fit everywhere. Ultimately, he will have to go further in the post season to satisify the fan base. With the class he is bringing in next year, that shouldn't be too far away.

I like Bruce for our program. I like his recruiting and money raising. The actual coaching drives me bananas, but "players" coaches are like that.
