So now Trump is effectively playing the "civil war ensues" card if he's impeached. LMAO. Trump's stench of desperation fills the air. I think the longer this goes on, the more unhinged he will become... and we're only in Week 1. Pelosi's prediction that Trump is effectively "self-impeaching" may come true!

Shokin affidavit that he was fired for not ending Burisma investigation. Rudy said that this man was very poor and if he was corrupt was not very good at it. The case is being reopened because it is thought Burisma paid a bribe to have it closed.

It's a viewpoint that ignores a key fundamental difference between the "whistleblower" over the Trump/Zelensky July 25th phone call and people such as Bradley/Chelsey Manning, Edward Snowden, Jeremy Hammond and Reality Winner who were merely leaking information... This unknown person followed the whistleblower protocol as set forth by the Intelligence Community whereas Manning, Snowden, Hammond and Winner did not.

The Trump Administration was unlawfully blocking the sending of the whistleblower's complaint to the congressional oversight committees. This is how the steps should have been followed in this process:

1) An employee submits a complaint to the Inspector General of the Intelligence community. This was done on August 12th.

2) The Inspector General is required to review it within 14 days and then determine whether the complaint is of "urgent concern", which is defined as "relating to" the "administration or operation of an intelligence activity within the authority of the Director of National Intelligence involving classified information." In this case, the Inspector General, Michael Atkinson did reach such a conclusion. He described this complaint as being both "urgent" and "credible".

3) The Inspector General should then forward the complaint to the Director of National Intelligence. Atkinson did forward the complaint to the acting DNI, Joseph Maguire. Per the applicable statute, the DNI then has 7 days to forward this complaint to the intelligence committees. Maguire didn't do this. He also failed to give the whistleblower guidance on how to contact the committees directly. Maguire also refused to comply with a subpoena issued by the House Intelligence Committee, compelling him to produce an unredacted copy of the whistleblower complaint. This was an unprecedented move by Maguire. No DNI has ever refused to pass along a whistleblower complaint to the congressional oversight committees before.

The Trump Administration was in violation of the law. It was not Maguire's place to countermand the Inspector General's determination like that. That is what Nancy Pelosi was working from on the day she announced that an impeachment inquiry would begin. Was it jumping the gun? Possibly, but it did get the ball rolling didn't it?

It's an Impeachment Inquiry. You do know the definition of "inquiry" yes? As a reminder, Pelosi initiated this action because Trump was squashing a Whistleblower report from going to Congress - which, by law, is required.

And if you think she didn't talk to the attorneys representing the Whistleblower to evaluate the scope and veracity of his claims prior to starting the inquiry, I've got a bridge to sell you.

I get that diehard Trump supporters are angry. Sorry. Trump brought this upon himself. He's not above the law, and now he's going to be impeached.

The interesting question to this story as it plays out is what else will investigators uncover during this process? Hidden phone transcripts with Putin and MBS are front and center. Further, Trump is already burning bridges with Republicans by acting unhinged. At this rate, he really may complete the impeachment process by himself.

Fitting end to a disaster.

It’s ridiculous that 57% of Americans think he shouldn’t be impeached isn’t it. Hmm, that’s majority which means some Dims think the same.

That is not what that poll says. The poll shows that 43% of Americans consider Trump's conduct on the July 25th phone call with the Ukrainian President Zelensky as being a "very serious" problem and 21% believe that it was a "somewhat serious" problem. The question of impeachment wasn't being asked.

Trump tweeting that Schiff should be arrested for treason, on the heels of tweeting about civil war if he is ousted, is beyond the pale. They need to put him in a straight jacket and get him to a facility where he can do no one harm.
