The Impeachment Thread

More concrete than every adult in the room pointing and yelling that 'he did that sht'? More concrete than the ambassadors to the EU and Ukraine saying 'he did that sht'? More concrete than Mulvaney admitting it to the press that 'they did that sht'?

Let's be honest, there's not much that is going to move his supporters from 'nope' to 'yep' and nothing will move them from not caring to caring...

I think if he wanted to be exonerated he'd be trotting the 1st hand knowledge guys like Bolton and Mulvaney down the aisle to the congressional hotseat and stop hiding behind "executive privilege." He knows he goofed and the only page in his playbook is to discredit and deny and claim it's "unfair and illegitimate."
I don’t really expect people to care at this point. I’d settle for them not mischaracterizing the evidence and letting people make up their own minds.

As long as we're being honest, not much is going to move his detractors from 'yep' to 'nope' either.

The key person in all of this IMO is Zelensky. Didn't he deny it happening? Wasn't it he who was allegedly being extorted?

I agree 100% that Trump is entirely capable of doing this. I'm not a Trump supporter. I'm not proclaiming his innocence. But show me something more substantial to prove his guilt. Again, we're talking about impeaching a POTUS. I think a stronger case is needed. I'm not just looking at this as Trump. I'm also considering what precedent this sets going forward. What happens in the future when roles are reversed and it's a Dem POTUS being challenged by Republicans with similar evidence? For most on here, they would just reverse their arguments because this is more about politics than actual guilt or innocence.

It's there to process, no one can understand it for you.

Rrrrrriiiiiiight. In other words no one can point to anything specific because there isn't anything specific. Nothing came out during the Mueller witch hunt on Trump, and nothing more than biased hear say on Ukraine. Ya got nothin'.

Oh you know that the democrats have already opened Pandora's box. There will be no mercy the next time a democratic president has a republican house. The idiots let politics get in the way of doing what is right for the country.

I don’t know. I have no way of “knowing” this, but I imagine that government workers in DC are a large majority democrat. Meaning there is less likelihood that some random Republican staff member will overhear or be entrusted with the type of information that we are seeing from the whistleblower

Maybe if we actually start tossing the ****ers out they’ll stop going back to the cookie jar.

Not definitive. Do I believe Trump could be guilty? Absolutely. Now show me something more concrete to prove it. Circumstantial evidence isn't enough IMO. This goes beyond whether or not you like Trump. We're talking about impeaching a POTUS. You have to, IMO, consider if this is the precedent you want to set for impeachment going forward. Right now, it's more partisan than not IMO. I want to see stronger evidence.
The precedent I have always wished to set is that Americans will never sit idly by when the majority think that the president is a horrendously despicable human.

Are you serious? So you think that all of the Hunter Biden stuff was made up? This goes both ways and I'm actually looking forward to the patron saint of the democrats being filleted just like Trump has been for the past 4 years.

That's exactly what the repubs did with all four and a half years of the Starr investigation.
That Pandora's box was opened then.

With that logic Hillary was destined to be impeached if she were elected.
The majority never felt that way about Hillary.
Plus, we all know repubs were already working on impeachment strategies before the election even took place.
Had they controlled the house and Hillary was president, they absolutely would have impeached her.

Are you insane? That's exactly what the repubs did with all four and a half years of the Starr investigation.
Except the republicans actually had bipartisan support. I honestly don't think that another president will be elected without the opposition trying to derail his or her election. You idiots started the country down a slippery slope and now you can deal with it or face a civil war.

Who really expects Zelensky to admit looking like a feckless bitch? Especially when doing so would guarantee trumps cutting Ukraine loose. Zelensky needs the U.S. cash support to stave off Putin's aggression.

I'm pretty sure that most people think Hillary is a despicable human being.

Little known fact here but you know who else had bipartisan support? Joe Biden. Specifically when he was getting rid of the corrupt Ukrainian prosecutor.
