The Impeachment Thread

Nunes: Lt. Col. Vindman, did you discuss the July 25 phone call with anyone outside the White House on July 25 or July 26, and if so, with whom?
Vindman: Yes. I did coordinate US governmental... intergovernmental policy and I spoke to two individuals with regards to providing some... some sort of readout of the call.
N: Two individuals who were not in the White House?
V: Not in the White House. Two US Government officials who were cleared with uh appropriate need to know.
N: What agencies were these officials with?
V: Department of State Deputy Asst. Sec. George Kent [kents portfolio]. and an individual from the office of the... an individual in the intelligence community.
N: as you know, the intelligence community has 17 different agencies, which agency is this individual from?
Schiff: We don’t want to use these proceedings... I know, but we need to protect the whistleblower. I want to make sure that there’s no effort to out the whistleblower through these proceedings. If the witness has a good faith belief that these questions may out the identity of the whistleblower, that is not the purpose that we are here for and I want to advise the witness accordingly.
[irrelevant exchange ommitted]
N: you testified in your deposition that you do not know who the whistleblower is?
V: That’s correct I do not know who the whistleblower is.
N: so how is it possible for you to name these people and then out the whistleblower?
V: on the advice of my counsel, I’be been advised not to answer specific questions about members of the intelligence community.

It’s clearly precautionary.

They go on to have a back and forth and the attorney says it’s based on the ruling of the Chairman.

Pure lies.

I wonder what kind of crap Vindman will be in with his commander after correcting congressman Nunes to refer to him as Lt. Col. Vindman when he called him Mr. this morning. Generally a mid grade military officer wouldn't correct a congressman.

Military officers are a pretty tight knit group. I doubt if his commanding officer would have a problem. Besides congressmen aren't in his chain of command.

The military needs people to clean latrines and sit behind desks.

We wore flak jackets, helmets, and carried M-16s when we cleaned our company latrines (outhouses really). Most of the time we had Vietnamese workers for such tasks. Sometimes due to enemy activity the workers weren't allowed on base and we had to do it ourselves. Sorry that in your eyes I was just a bathroom attendant and not as good as others who served.
