This is NOT a rumor and remember who told you first. The 7 year 29 million dollar contract was signed between Steve Spurrier and the University of Alabama last night shortly after 10:00 p.m. After the bowl game announcements Sunday it will be publicly announced at a press conference. I wanted to spill it earlier on here but I wanted a 2nd confirmation, one in the Athletic Department and another from the Law Firm that drew it up. Thank you Vols, and have a nice Day!!! :dance2:

NC State Why?

Trust me there waiting out for Bill Cowher. I live like 50 miles from Raliegh. These people down here are friggin dead set on that man coaching NC State next year.

I don't know if theres any truth to it but he does have a big nice house in Raleigh and the Steelers aren't doing to hot, and his failure to sign a contract extension has been the talk on ESPN.

(If true...)

Did they make sure to tell Spurrier that they no longer have the scholarships that are worth more than they are everywhere else?

Not bad. They fire Shula on Sunday night and have Spurrier signed to a seven year deal within 48 hours. and SoCar is keeping that done deal hush hush for 5 days. And you got the scoop from the AD and the Lawyer. And Bear drew up the terms.

Didn't Spurrier rat out Bama the same way Fulmer did. Alabama has a total hatered of Fulmer for that does that not apply to Spurrier?

I'd say some "crazy loyal" fans wouldn't want to see him there if he did that.

I wonder how many times Spurrier loses to Auburn before they give him the boot?

Why would anyone want to be the head coach at Alabama?

I don't think Bama could handle a coach that speaks. They're used to watching Shula blank stare the scoreboard all the time and will not know what to make of noise coming from lips. "Ya'll better shoot him. There's poppycock coming from his mouth, and he might have snakes too."

Colin Cowherd was hammering Alabama and their fans today on his show.

A couple called in pissed as wet hornets getting ill with him. It made for great radio.

i love the fact that so few people think bama can be resurrected. they're not far from it now. If spurrier goes there and has been denying all this time, the SEC is in serious trouble. time will tell on tusk's "sources".

Good article from Pittsburgh Trib about Cowher to NCSU. They pretty much laugh at that idea

USC just got a commit from a kid named Jospeh Hills out of FLA today. Says he committed to Spurrier over the phone. Do you think something like this makes the Spurrier to UA deal a bogus thread?

No. As long as Spurrier is still the head coach at South Carolina it's his job to recruit for them.

yes, allvol. It does. At this point, however, chasing the rumours down rabbit holes is half the fun. Spurrier has been such a gamesman that I could see him pulling something like this. On the other hand, it seems like a monumentally low blow to SC. I just don't know what to believe.
