I would tend to agree with this (although I think its better than Casino) but that does not make The Irishman a bad film by any means. Goodfellas is my favorite movie of all time. Gangs has some of the most beautiful shots I have ever seen. The Departed is good but contained, its a different type of film. Mean Streets is a great raw film. I have always enjoyed it. You also left out Raging Bull, the most beautiful film ever made.
Its not a bad film at all! I might actually watch it again since I had two watch in two parts with family over thanksgiving holiday.

I didnt like Mean Streets..I think thats because I saw Goodfellas first..Never seen Raging Bull.

Here's Pat McAfee asking former mob boss Michael Franzese about The Irishman, pretty funny...

Got an hour through and my wife tapped out, so I'll finish it later. I like it so far but the young De Niro scenes are so distracting. He doesn't seem young at all and looks weird. It's a big fail. The scene where he beats up the butcher for putting hands on his daughter...they had to do the whole thing in front of a green screen, the store front and everything...it's so unnecessary. Why? They used CGI and De Niro still looked like an old man missing a step on the stairs when he was stomping the guy. This is cinema?

Yea i don’t know why they did that expect to show off their fancy CG and special effects and it wasn’t even convincing. They should of just used younger actors for the roles

Have not seen it but seems from what posters claim, they should have went the way of Godfather 2 and used young actors and after they got older went with the usual stars

I need a gif of old De Niro saying "what's that about?" in regard to JFK vs Hoffa. That was so great.

Just watched that scene and it was laughably bad. Looked like some 80s or 90s movie scene it was so bad.
