Really impressed with the team after last night. We played one heck of a game. I get nervous when we're up by a bit and play starts getting sloppy but we held it together. I thought O'Bryant would destroy us but we did probably a better job than anyone else has done on him. The future is bright for this team.

Maymon may not have done a lot that showed up on the stat sheet, but his defense was huge. We were able to stick him on JOBlll, not have to double, he didn't get in foul trouble, and really have him fits.

I disagree about the way we handled the press. I'd guess 1/3 (or more) of our 16 TOs came as a result of their press, either in the backcourt or being trapped after pushing right past the timeline. Thompson was particularly affected by their press. He turned it over 2x in only 13 minutes. Barton turned it over 3x in 31 minutes. They certainly didn't look comfortable against it, and I can assure that opponents that watch this film will see that and implement it against us.

Hopefully our guys watch the film too. Maybe think about attacking the weak side once in a while.

It was perfect. We won easy but still have a lot that we can watch and learn from. We will see that press again in a tight game, and last night should help prepare us for it.

I'm sure I'm in the minority again, but I've always liked Edwards. Thought D was keeping him off the floor. He can shoot, drive, elevate and finish with either hand.
He's better for the team right now than Hubbs, but you can't bring in a freshman like Hubbs and sit him, especially if you want to get anymore on campus.

I was driving the Edwards bandwagon heading into last year. His offense is SEC level no doubt, his defense is what kept him off the floor as you mentioned.

The shoulder injury to Hubbs is giving Edwards a great opportunity, happy to see him taking advantage.

He's one of the best guys, and team players you could ask for. He called the team meeting, and held it in his room, a guy who wasn't even playing. He's always cheering his a$$ off on the bench, he's the ultimate team player, the guys love him you can tell.

I knew I liked him for some reason. Plus, I love a guy who comes off the bench and isn't scared. To shoot, to drive, to play, whatever. You show me a scared player, and then we can show him the bench.

Lsu coach Jones reminded me of CM a few games ago. Deer in headlights. Not sure what's going on. Offense looked terrible. Players no showing.

Very good win last night. UT's first true road win of the year. There is nothing that will help a resume like a road win against a decent/good team. We need LSU to continue to win now. They were picked in the top 5 of the SEC.

Only negative from the game for me was the assist:turnover ratio. We had 16 turnovers and only 12 assists. However, we still won by 18, outrebounded them and shot well. Not much more to say. Big, big win and in dominating fashion.

I'm with you on that one. He always produces offensively when he gets time. Problem being, it's typically been in garbage time. Good to see him get some meaningful minutes. I, like you, figured it was defense keeping away from meaningful minutes.

Things just aren't clicking for Hubbs right now, which will likely fuel the "Hubbs is a Bust!!!" threads pretty soon. The injury isn't helping either, but he just seems to be thinking too much when he's in. Hopefully things slow down for him quickly.

Nothing would please me more. Would continue to show the growth of this team, start fast again, put them away, and cruise to an easy W at home!

It should allow for Cuonzo to get some players like Pops to see some minutes, as well. If North Texas can beat them by 20, we should be able to, as well.

This is how much I thought of Edwards arriving on campus. I predicted him to start at the 3 last year.

I think he can be a valuable 10-15 minute player for this team.

that happens when players are thinking too much, or trying to fit into a halfcourt offense. Jrich, Barton and hubbs have all struggled with it this year. I think the recent talks with CM and players meetings cleared some things up as far as offense. They look like they now realize they have the green light to shoot, drive or cut and don't have to continue to run the motion offense in a robotic style. That happens a lot though. When guys realize the offense is just a set and they can attack whenever they want, things click. Plus, players like to play with other aggressive players because they know it will open up things for them.

I could not understand why people was raising h#ll with all the new pieces to the puzzle it takes a while to come together, we are going to the sweet 16 get your dancing shoes ready we are going to be dancing awhile.:dance2: I will still say that after a loss think about it just took time to jell, we still got a long way to go but I see the improvement from game to game.

well, many teams need to play together and get comfortable as they go. However, there are many teams that do that and don't have early struggles. Ones that could've been avoided.
That and you look at what we did last year as far as start playing better, then we collapsed in some big games late in the season.

This team has regrouped since the NC State loss at home, and they are playing hard nosed defense while sharing the ball on offense to get a good open shot.
