Dear God. It's why I love baseball.

Hamilton is having a great year. .466 OBP, but still 16 points below Ted Williams' .482 OBP lifetime average.

Hamilton isn't really the approach at the plate obp type

One could argue the same with williams in that I believe his mindset was to hit his pitch not the pitchers pitch. Not his fault the pitcher failed to throw strikes.

I was just saying I don't think Hamilton will ever, ever, ever show anywhere near that kind of plate discipline. He sure does rake, though.

Oh, of course. His raw power and bat speed are ridiculous. But we all know we will likely never see another Ted Williams. I just made the statistical point given how Hamilton is killing everything for a month+ and is still below Williams' career OBP while keeping in mind Williams hit for substantial power as well. You give him those years he missed during times of war he hits 150+ more HRs and flirts with 700 career HRs.

Someone is gonna overpay for him

I agree, he is going to get PAID. Will be worth it if he stays healthy but that is a huge "if" with him.

He has as legitimate chance at the triple crown as anyone has ever had. If he doesn't break down. Dude is putting up video game numbers.

Honestly, his past "issues" are going to keep him from getting a long term deal and I think he understands that.

I do have some faith that if anybody is going to overpay for him, it will be the rangers and the two are made for eachother

I think a 3 year 60 million dollar contract would be fair for both sides. Dude went deep again, this just ain't right.
