The Lady Vols need to...

How many Top Ten teams had they played at that point?

Oh, that's right. The competition doesn't matter, even if you're the defending national champion. Only wins and losses matter.
Two to answer your question, UGA #5 and Stanford #1. Not looking good for the spin as 8 of those teams were Top 22.

And that team lost their fifth game of the season to #22 Arkansas on Dec. 29, so that would put them only one loss ahead of the current team. And while it's true that we have played far more current Top Ten opponents than the '96-'97 team, several of those teams weren't Top Ten when we played them. Those early '96 numbers included several squeaker or OT wins and/or losses along with several blowout losses.

The biggest schedule difference in the two seasons is that the '96 year played an even harder schedule due to a good SEC year for Vandy, Georgia, LSU, and even Florida getting into the ranked act, and we played several of them twice.

So that team lost five of their first nine ranked games that season. They didn't let that under-.500 record against ranked opponents define their season.

That team played leading into #22 - 13,12, 11, 1, 5, 14, 12. Not the same, but keep reaching our losses today UR, UR, 12, 14, 9 and now #2 the day of. Bill Parcells — 'you are what your record says you are'

I won't fight you on the fact that we should have more wins because we should, but I'm a big fan of Her Hoops Stats and their rankings based on advanced statistics. Per Herhoops we have lost to #14, 3, 50, 20, 11, and 2. But being real, we should not be any worse than 3-3 in those games.

Nothing wrong with that, and I agree. Being real is frowned upon if it goes against the likeminded. Those number I put were the teams rankings at the time of our loss.

Tenn needs to decide on a coach NOW. Waiting till the end of the season will be too late. Not saying Harper should be fired before the season end, but a new coach selection I hope is in progress NOW!

Started to like your post and then I checked your stats. 1 to 1 turnover to assist ratio isn't very good dude. Your going to have to clean that up for real street cred.

So, I decided to hold my likes for posters with 4 or more likes per post. Credibility is the name of this game. And your stats indicate you are a below average poster. In other words your turnovers far out weigh your assists

I can see around number 4.

Starting off with Florida who should be like 12-1.

They are big and have a good coach.

They also have a Danish player which is distracting.

I predict a barnburner opener with the gators.

Hire Tammi Reiss from Rhode Island

I'm a vol, but I also keep up with URI sports as a second team.

What she has done at URI is nothing short of a miracle.

I mean Rhody women's basketball was a hopeless wasteland, like perennial 20+ loss type of program and in two full seasons (not including 11-8 covid year) she won 22 games there for the first time ever and they now sit at 9-1.

They play a very smart well executed brand of basketball.

She has about as much charisma as you can possibly imagine, probably works as hard as anybody and has the background where she could handle coaching at a place like this.

Played at UVA, played in the WNBA, assitant coach in the WNBA, assistant coach all over the country including UVA and Syracuse. Also been in two movies lol.

Just wanna see what yall think.

I do hope Kellie turns it around though I do love her.
Who has her teams played? How has she done against top 25 competition? There are several teams out there with great records who have feasted on weak competition. She seems to have a lot of experience but so does KJH. Before we fire KJH we need to see if she can turnaround the team. The ladies looked very good against number 2 Stanford. I would say that talk about firing KJH is premature at this point.

Or maybe she has a better understanding of her team than a random poster does and sees progress and wants to keep encouraging and motivating her team. So there’s that.
To use another persons quote, “you are what your record says you are”.

So if you lose your first game of the season to anyone, you're a terrible team. Who knew how simple it could be?

If you win your first three games, pencil you in for the championship, because you're a perfect team. Your record says so.

A lot of sports analysists are going to be out of a job tomorrow when this nugget gets out.

50% of the teams after game one it happens to and adjust accordingly.

The LVs need to: keep getting better. We certainly miss Key, but oddly enough, we look more fluid and aggressive with a smaller line-up. PLUS, we have several very good small forwards who can get better for now and the future. I definitely see a solid team heading into the SEC and a very dangerous team by March. i am not a rose-colored glasses person either.

looking for 2 to 4 no worst than 5. Have not watched any other sec teams yet. Will you give some credit if she finishes top 3?
Finish 2 sure, is the #3 a log jam of 3-14 beating each other and everyone had multiples losses? If so then probably not.

No, you name them. There are many things that go into winning games including chemistry and playing together for significant amounts of time.
You think there are better rosters out there let’s hear it.
Like I said bring the popcorn.lol
