The Last Thing You Purchased II

@Orangeslice13
Need to purchase an electrical tester to install ceiling fans and pendant lights. Suggestions? I have installed others with friend and he did testing but looking to do these next projects on my own. I need to know if wires are live. Thanks to all.
My natural smartazz wants to say….turn off the light switch, but any tester will do (keep in mind, we call these “death sticks)

I personally like to turn the breaker off if I don’t work it hot
This works pretty good.

just work it hot. It’s like playing mission impossible but you’re not in any serious danger. As many times as I’ve been shocked it doesn’t hurt, it just pisses me off

just won an auction at Bring a Trailer - hope it lives up to the billing. 1991 300e 2.6 (w124)View attachment 424418

Had the car about a week now. Drives like a champ. Has a few minor issues but otherwise seems like a good buy.

The thunk when closing the doors still amazes me. 1991 doesn't seem like that long ago and couple that with some of the ground breaking features on these cars it still seems primitive in some ways.

Has the old school German handling - there's body roll to a point then it locks in. My 1987 BMW 325 was the same way. It's a unique feel and missing in modern cars (even German)
