The legendary Gus Manning passed away last night

When my dad was ailing in his 80's, I needed an elevator pass for him to get to his seat (That was my Dad's last game, UCLA) Called UTAD and the person that answered the phone and set it up was Gus. He was a dedicated and hard working man.

I was at that Clemson game and UT was simply lining up to kick the extra point to tie the game...The center snap (was good) went thru Holloway's hands and he picked up the ball and just heaved it to the endzone with Clemson defenders hanging all over him. I looked down and saw Gus jumping up and down...Great game

I was at that game and doing a little amateur photography. I trotted down to the bottom of the aisle in the south endzone and snapped a few pictures of that amazing come from behind play. And a few others. Will share. In the picture, you can see Holloway scrambling and Sievers breaking open. Didn't realize it at the time, but Gus was right there with Larry Sievers just in front of me for that iconic shot with the briefcase that everyone knows.

Sorry. I didnt grow up in Knoxville, nor did I go to UT. I'm a fan by proxy of my Dad. I'm fairly knowledgeable when it comes to former players/coaches. But not superfans/boosters (other than the Haslams). I'll do some research on Gus though.
