The level of arm chair coaching on this board is astronomical

Weird concept, right? I remember the heavily censored boards that were around before Volnation. Needless to say, they aren't around any more.

Cockytalk is pretty bad

Those guys can't say anything negative about the team or they get banned

An observation about one's intelligence is merely that, an observation. I am not feeble enough to allow some internet doucher to get under my skin. I am still waiting on you to enlighten us as to your vast football knowledge that has given you the ability to criticize everything that occurs on and off the field. I will hang up and listen.

Your posts say otherwise

I do too. And like today there was hope for the future. I like the overall direction of the program although I think trying to run our offense as it is with Workey is trying to fit a square peg in a round hole.

I think Butch knows Worley is his best chance to win now.

I think he's also bound and determined to run the read option regardless of whether his personnel fits the offense

When you have a QB that is not built to run a read option, that takes that threat away, so the defense can focus on the RB and the pass. Better teams will exploit that weakness in this offense

There was a guy posting about his vast knowledge of coaching due to his 10 year old playing pop warner on here yesterday.

I said in short form that my 12 and 13 year olds could call where the the play will go with the formation. And how to stop it. They use a lot of the same plays in florida. ( But hey, just keep bashing our players.) It's not our players. It's the scheme. give these defenses all day before we hit the line of scrimmage on a run, or 3 seconds before we can even make a read on a sideline pass play, or run sideline yo sideline on a read option won't work against the teams coming up. It works in the middle school and high school level only because there is that one player that is faster than everyone. But hey, what do I know? I would rather you guys be fools and bash me rather than our players.

I am guessing that since some of you consider yourselves to be quite the experts that you could enlighten us all as to how CBJ is not the answer and who would be. Secondly, I would like to know how the play calling could be improved. I will hang up and listen.
Hhhhhmmmmm. Seems like you were arguing the same thing when Dooley was a coach. So, you're saying that if we see something out of kilter....like the hiring of Sal Sunseri....we can't form a reasonable opinion, and express those opinions on a fan forum, Monsieur Jackwagon?

I do think we should use the we pass to set up the run rather than trying to run against a more experienced DL leaving us in obvious passing situations. JMO

Never defended Dooley but nice try and the guy above you is yammering on about how his 12 year old son knew the play before it was called. It's no wonder trolls come onto this board.

I agree completely. With our inexperience at OL, I'd like to see us do more short drop passes. Worley is better at the short game anyway.

Let me see if I can get this straight, CBJ is not changing his system because he feels more loyal to his system than the team or the players on it. He also intentionally doesn't call short drop passes because he doesn't like the offense picking up first downs and wants Worley to be pressured as much as possible. You two are literally cartoons hahaha

We go 2-0 against bowl teams last year! We beat SC LAST YEAR and lose to Georgia by 1" with a roster that was pretty close to devastated and people want to criticize this coaching staff! On top of the bad run we get a TOP FIVE recruiting class! Good grief what do you REALISTICALLY expect!

Yes the jury is still out on this coaching staff but all the whining around here is ridiculous!!! We probably won't beat OU but what does a person with one ounce of football knowledge want at this point!!!! Some of you alleged Vol fans really are either naive, ignorant, or have no clue what bad of shape the program was in when Dooley left!

Why do so many just like you get all butt-hurt and twisted at the slightest criticism of this team or it's staff. I'm as optimistic about Butch and the team as you or anyone else, but I don't have to surrender my fan card, as it were, just to point out some concerns I may have, here or there.

Don't be a Knee-jerk Nancy. We all want to see the team do well and when we see a problem area we simply want to see it get fixed.

In this case, I'd just like to see Bajakian "modify" the scheme somewhat, to fit a pocket passer better....rather than try to pretend that defenses will respect Worley, if he pulls it a few times per game. They don't.

I see you too are one of the Knee-jerk Nancy's here, on VN. Wins don't hide the fact that there are some glaring concerns, and that's what we are talking about. Welcome to the interwebs.

.
1st gruden
2nd more passing but less passing
More running with less running and our RB is too damn tall
We need all 5 star players cause no one wins with 3 and 4 star
More blitzing like they do on that xbox thingy
Less blitzing so we can cover all the field. I hope I was clear with all the answers. Thanks for calling landscapingvol from floater, Kentucky.

The mark of a good football coach is they are able to mold they're personnel into what they want to do. I think our offensive system is extremely flexible

All due respect I put my money on someone who is 2-0 against good teams versus the advice you are giving! Don't you think this staff has a pretty good track record and may know just a little more about the players and football than you? If you answer no then apply for some soon to be head coaching jobs, recruit a top five class, and beat two teams that went to bowl games last year and you may have some credibility. My name is not Nancy just being realistic.

I may get flamed for this but I think Butch is more focused on getting the system in place than modifying the system for one season. I think some other posters like sjt have had similar observations. He knows he has time and I think he's more of a methodical approach type.

Minus most of my smartarse comments on here, I think butch is a great coach. He recruits and can coach the shart out of a team. We still have many holes and are still conditioning these guys mentally. For whoever does not believe in this staff are blind. Just think if butch didn't take the job our other options were the chair force coach, the offensive co at GT, and all the Dooley level turds. We are in a great position for the future. GBO
