The lies of Tv shows and Movies

Mean Girls
Despite what is shown those bars Regina don't make you gain weight fast.

Ms.Doubtfire, Tootsie, etc
In vast movies and tv shows men dress up as women without getting discovered that the person is a man.
The adam's apple is highly visible in men so in most cases it would be discovered fast the person is a man.

Factual Error

Django Unchained

1858 is listed two years before the Civil War started in the movie at the start in a subtitle.
The Civil War started in 1861 so this is wrong, and I'm amazed in the era of the Internet and smartphones this got past editors.

It would be 3 years before the Civil War started not 2.

Huge Scientific Factual Error in the movie The Panic Room

The intruders flood the panic room with propane, Jody Foster's character responds by igniting the propane with a lighter resulting in it to burn along the ceiling.
This is impossible as propane is heavier than air so it would sink to the floor rather than rise up to the ceiling.
Also lightning a flame in the room should have caused anyone on the floor or in the room to be engulfed in flames close to instantly.

Movies:Cast Away, Six Days 7 Nights, etc

In these kind of movies a human or humans are stranded on a island, and despite no wearing sunscreen they arent sunburned.
Truth: Humans would be sunburned.

Lies from vast movies and tv shows
Humans can wake up with no bed hair.
A man and woman after waking up will kiss each other with no bad breath.
Truths: Humans wont wake up without bed hair.
Since humans have bad breath in the morning its unlikely a man would kiss a woman after waking up.

I hate in every emergency situation cell phones lose signal and break up during a call.

The Movie 10,000 BC
Mammoths were in the desert that helped the egyptians build pyramids.

2 Huge Factual Errors
There were no mammoths in the desert so egyptians couldnt use them to build the pyramids.
Also the pyramids didnt get built until 7,500 years later.

Robocop (1987)
In this movie Robocop defeats a sexual male predator by shooting his testicles.
Also beats up a brutal violent murdering criminal Clarence including throwing him through a glass window, and attemlting to kill him by choking but stoping.
No lawsuits or legal trouble. Thats logical if this is a fictional story set in a Police State but Robocop isnt one of them.

Truth
In the Real world A cop shooting a criminal's testicles to defeat them would easily qualify as Cruel and Unusual Punishment a violation of the 8th ammendment and is not non lethal its freakin lethal.
The cop will not only get sued but also likely fired, and highly possible go to Prison.
Even if the criminal has a human shield like in the movie its astronomical that this would ever be ruled by a Judge and Courts
as a legal moral move that didnt violate the 8th ammendment with the Cop suffering no major consequences.

A cop using deadly force on a criminal in response to being spit on plus being cussed at is going to in most cases become a defendant and be convicted guilty of police brutality as a likely consequence, if attemted to kill by choking or some other way but stoping then attempted murder, plus several other consequemces for the cop.

You have to keep it in context Stormie. Within the parameters of that "world" those actions were legal. For that matter, since we're talking "Robocop" after all, his actions were programmed...it'd be like suing a computer for messing up.

And then let's get literal. Given the particular circumstances for that "crotch shot" I don't think it would fall under "cruel and unusual" anyway. As long as a court could find use of lethal force justified then where someone was shot is actually irrelevant. Only possible exception might be that if it could be shown that other target zones were available and that the groin was targeted expressly for malicious intent. As I recall they framed that scene expressly to make that particular shot viable.

Fine they may be legal there but I doubt you''ll find a cop in the USA using these same actions with no legal problems which is my point.
.
Why did uphold the law come up when he was choking Clarence because it was attempted murder which is a huge violation of the law a felony to be exact so that is not legal it is illegal.
It's unlikely a cop with body cameras now would use attemlted murder while on camers that but lets just say one did use attempted murder whether on camera pr not but was stopped or stopped it's a safe bet they would likely get fired, and go to Prison.

There are lethal shots which are ones that kill the criminal and non lethal which defeat a suspect without huge alterimg damage to their bodies. Shoulder shots are very common.
Lethal force can be justified but I doubt a cop shooting a criminal in the testicles even if no other area didnt appear available is going to be upheld as justified.

Blue Bloods
Danny decides to take a blowtorch while on then point it close to the mechanic's face to get major information while threatning if I recall right to hurt him in a specefic way with the blowtorch if he doesnt give him the needed information.

Truth
I don't doubt at all that a Detective or any cop in the real world specefically the USA can't use those actions to get information from a person without huge problems with the Law.
Spoken verbal intent to harm spefically with a deadly weapon, coercion, threatening a human with a deadly weapon yeah its pretty much a slam dunk they will have legal problems if they used the actions above.

POTC The Curse of the Black Pearl
Factual Error
In this movie British Soldiers have Repetion guns shootong at Jack Sparrow when he is running to escape.

This is impossible for the time as Repetion weapons didnt exist until the mid 1800's.

Let me simplify; if in the world of a movie/show something is legal then it's legal and does not constitute a lie/deception/inaccuracy. This is true for anything that occurs. Context matters.

You have a strong misconception of lethal force usage. Legally lethal force is considered lethal, meaning ANY shot can potentially cause death and is justified or it isn't, groin or otherwise. Shoulder shots ARE NOT common in the real world and are taught as primary targets in exactly 0% of any training class I've ever heard of or seen. Take a look at this full size self-defense shooting target and note the primary target zone.

Fine im wrong in this case.

Lies
Bechwarmers
A robot butler moves over a dog with a lawmower resulting in the dog 's fur cut.

I know that a lawmower has deadly cutting blades on the bottom so no doubt a as it would not just physically hurt a dog but also possibly kill it if a lawnmower moved on top of a dog.

The Untouchables Movie
Frank Nitti in this movie dies when Ness throws him off a Courtroom roof. The year for when the movie is set is 1930.

Truth
Nitti died in 1943 when he commited suicide.

Vast Movies: Shooting at Plasma lights will result in creating a fire.

Tested in multiple ways on mythbusters and nothing created a fire. So it's a astounding factual error.

Lethal Weapon 2
A nail gun is a effective long range weapon that doesn'tneed to be pressed against a hard surface to be fired.
Humans can Slide down ropes with no gloves from a high container at a high speed won't result in any rope burn

Lethal Weapon 2 and other movies Mainly Hollywood
Countries don't have the power to remove Diplomatic immunity of Persons.

Factual Errors
This was tested on Mythbusters and it got busted as it failed to pierce the skin of the Target.
Since nail guns like that in the movie can only be fired if the tip is pressed against a hard surface it's a glaring factual error as it's portrayed as having the same ability as a Hand Gun.
Considering how high up they were, and how fast they were going it is a grave factual error as they would have suffered severe rope burn.

Countries do have the power to remove Diplomatic immunity of Persons in other countries, and it's highly likely to happen in response to being informed with credible evidence the Persons have commited murder, extortion, or other crimes in a country they are in.

Nail guns are not effective weapons at all at any distance over two or three feet, but the safety is not the reason why. We took those things off our nail guns. And even if you don't remove the safety, you can still shoot nails by simply pulling the slide back and holding it in. Then just pull the trigger and shoot all you want.

Factual Error
True Lies, Buffy the Vampire slayer tv show plus other vast Movies and TV shows
A human can easily break a glass window using a bare hand to punch through the glass without bleeding, and no glass getting in their skin. It shows a obvious lie this is a safe action with no damage to a unprotected human hand.

Truth
Last Action Hero and The Nice Guys
In both these movies it showed the obvious truth that it's a very dumb dangerous action that not only will make the hand bleed but also glass gets stuck in the skin.

Factual Error
Lethal Weapon 4
In this movie Detective Butters makes a verbal specefic death threat to a suspect he's putting handcuffs on if he gets Johnny Cochran as his lawyer he'll kill him. This he says out loud in a public place with multiple witnesses. Yet through the convience of being illogical he has no legal problems.

Truth
A detective would have major legal problems if the detective made the colossal dumb decision to speak a specefic death threat while handcuffing a suspect with witnesses in the area that can hear him or her.

Also since Detectives have to be smart it's incredibly unlikely they would do something hugely dumb by speaking verbal death threats including with specifics plus witnesses in the area.
When I say hugely dumb I'm talking running toward a pack of wolves.

Movie: Jaws the Revenge
Factual Errors
In this awful movie the Shark roars.
Also A man is eaten by the Shark, it is blown up but still he survives how utterly unbelievable.
A boat makes contact with the Shark in the climax and this causes the shark to blow up.
The Shark stands up in the surface of the water.
A person can flash back to a event that person.never saw.

Truth
Sharks cannot stand up in the surface of the water, and since sharks sink if they stop swimming no doubt sharks wouldn't attempt to stand up on the surface of the water.
There is no damn way Sharks could roar because they have no organs for producing sound.
If a person is eaten by a Shark they wouldn't survive, and no damn way a human inside a shark survives after the Shark was blown up if the slim chance that they are still alive inside a shark that ate them.
A boat making contact or touching a shark would not cause a shark to explode because there is nothing to create the explosion.
Obviously a person can't flash back to a event that they never saw.

I agree Lethal Weapon 2 was pretty silly... but it did apparently inspire a bizarre, real life murder. Google "Anthony Liu death - Sydney, Australia"... X-rays confirm this poor guy was shot in the head 34 times with a nail gun which fired 85 mm nails. Gruesome. A detective was asked if he had ever seen anyone killed by a nail gun before, he replied, "Only in Lethal Weapon 2." LOL.
