The Mandalorian

Sorry your fan theories about Luke didn’t come true. I liked what they did with him. I didn’t want the same Luke we saw 30 years ago in Jedi of new hope.

I did too. It went against my expectations and that’s what I liked... it does not ruin the OT in anyway.

If I were nitpicking things that “ruin” the franchise... the First Order existing and Emperor returning do more damage to the original story than grumpy Luke.

Not sure I agree, because people were saying the same thing about not looking back fondly at the prequels after ROTS and yet here we are. The passage of time changes perception. People seem to forget just how badly most of the prequels were bashed.
Maybe. I just think the ST has more issues but I know Star Wars is notorious for people retroactively changing opinions on them so it's cool. Like I said, jmo.

The prequels most certainly did. Perhaps the basic underlying story was suitable but the execution was horrible. The dialogue was atrocious. The Sesame Street Anakin? Jar Jar? Romper room Younglings?

Darth Maul was likely the best character and could have been woven throughout the movies.

Anakin's story should have mirrored Luke’s starting as a teen.

They've aged worse for me. I tried to rewatch recently and just couldn't.

The CGI, acting and writing are atrocious. And Anakin is Jesus!

We rewatched all the movies prior to going to see the new one. Episode 1 wasn't as bad as I remember. I actually like it better than episode 2. Pod Race and Final duel were phenomenal.
could have done without the flips and ballet stuff. DM was best bad guy not named DV.

I'd love to see the numbers on people that removed D+ after Mando ended. Twitter was buzzing about it, but who knows how representative that was? There is no way I'd be keeping it rn if I weren't getting it for free.

Young Anakin (accidentally blowing up the Trade Federation): “Woooooah! That was cool!”

Cringe.

I know he was just a kid and he was only doing as he was directed, but even still....that was a bad performance. His whole time in the fighter at the end was cringe.

I read about half of that and it was funny... then I returned to my default stance that some people put too much thought into a series that was made for 8-12 years olds. It’s not deep. It was never intended to be deep.
I never felt like the originals were meant solely for kids until halfway through Jedi. It was like Lucas woke up one morning and realized "wait, I have the toy rights on this stuff!"

How old were you when you first saw it? The vast majority of parents in the 70s thought it was silly and humored their kids’ obsession with it. They had no idea their kids would carry it with them into adulthood.
