Debatable - but we're not talking about 81m people who could see the future.

It's also debatable that Trump would have done a better job in "today's environment." Presidencies don't happen in vacuums and it's often the case that one presidents' decisions lead to the next president's problems. The current inflation issues are as a result of pandemic related shutdowns, a tightened labor market, wage increases that lead to higher prices for goods and services and Russia's invasion of Ukraine among others.

Nevertheless, trump is a douchebag. It was for that reason people turned out to vote against him. If the R's manage to do the smart thing and not trot trump out again as the GOP selection, then 81m D's and I's probably won't show up to vote and the R's would still win in a landslide.

Sure I get it. No one has ever denied that there was a toxic and ugly underbelly in our country for decades.
Trumpism attempted to legitamize it and make it publicly acceptable......it should have stayed hidded, suppressed, and viewed as the negative that it is.

Was Biden not elected to undo Trumps stupidity? Can we summarily agree he’s proceeded to throw bad gas on Trumps bad fire? I’m also wildly curious about your metrics for Trump being a douche. Of course you’re right he is. But are You somehow under the impression that JB isn’t? . I detest Trump and I can honestly say that Biden is the most despicable person to hold the Oval in my lifetime. And that includes a man who probably killed innocent people in missile strikes to cover up getting head from an intern. At least Trump can keep accurate count of his grandchildren.

I think to answer that you have to look at pre-Covid and not include 2020. Nobody would have likely gotten 2020 right. I'm not nearly as pro Trump as simply anti dem, and he's the only person in recent history to stand against them. Finally congress controls spending - remember Trump couldn't reallocate to build a southern border, but Biden can zap student loans at will even despite a SC decision - and the student loan issue is far more expensive. I think presidents have a lot more opportunity to spur congress to spend than they do to check spending - that the presidential control of spending is asymmetric. Far easier to start a raging brushfire than to stop one if symbolism helps.

I’m not the one you posed the question too but if it’s Trump Vs Michelle, I could see a scenario where she got 88 to 90 million votes. If it’s Trump Vs Biden and Biden wins again I could see it being stolen.
