The (many) indictments of Donald Trump

My guess is that you'd call any viable candidate a smelly fish. What if it was DeSantis? Greg Abbott? Mayor Pete? My guess is no one is wonderful enough to satisfy you
It’s every election.
The best person doesn’t exist. The person who won only did so because the other side ran a bad candidate

we don't need corrupt people in public office. Law suits brought against Trump were corrupt with no merit but brought to "get Trump".

We don't need corrupt people involved in lawfare against the public.
It was a rhetorical question. It doesn’t benefit anyone but Trump.

I think it will benefit the Rep candidate in the next Presidential election. If these corrupt people in the DOJ were successful in removing Trump off the ballet then the DOJ then controls who the Rep can run for President. If Trump Jr runs, then they go after him and remove him off the ballet. If any leftist in the DOJ dislike who the Reps run for President, then they will go after them with lawfare.

It benefits the Reps while hurting the Dems and their unlawful lawfare against Reps.

Jack Smith, Former Special Counsel Who Investigated Trump, Raises Eyebrows By Disclosing $140K 'Gift'

Former Justice Department special counsel Jack Smith accepted $140,000 worth of free legal services in the last weeks before he resigned.

Smith ran two criminal investigations into Donald Trump, both of which were dropped after his election victory, as a sitting president can't be prosecuted.

Smith resigned on January 10 after Trump boasted he would fire Smith 'within two seconds' of taking office if he won the election.

Before he stepped down, Smith retained outside counsel from Peter Koski at Covington & Burling - the biggest law firm in Washington DC.

Smith's final public disclosure report included the pro bono legal services under the gifts and travel reimbursements section.

Why Smith needed outside counsel is unclear, but he retained Koski, himself a former DoJ official, amid Trump's escalating rhetoric against political enemies.

That doesn't seem legal somehow, does that seem legal, to get paid personal gifts to prosecute someone? I think there's a name for that.
