The (many) indictments of Donald Trump

Nothing

Is

going

to

Happen

I agree but I could also see them trying to indict Tump after they’ve went through the trouble of raiding his house. Anyway they go about it, they’re still going to look bad. This will do nothing but make people distrust the current administration more.

You can’t tell liberals that.

They think burying Trump will make people trust their party even more.

Based on what I am seeing - prepare for a Trump indictment. They have gone so far now, they HAVE to bring one. I'm sure they are going to find something in that pile of docs hastily packed by GSA and shipped to Trump that they will claim is "still classified". And they know it because its been sitting there for 18 months and they have been there on previous visits to catalogue it. I can see on Tucker and others that they are maneuvering to get ahead of it. That likely means their inside sources are telling them what to expect.

This will lead to a Trump indictment, you heard it here. There is almost no other possible path for the Biden admin and the alphabet agencies. That will almost assuredly lead to a conviction by a Democrat Judge in a DC court and almost as likely to be overturned when it reaches this Supreme Court. This has nothing to do with right or wrong, and hardly even the law really, since almost anyone understands this would not even be an issue except that Trump may be running again and could very well win. So let us put away pretenses of why we each believe what should or should not happen but rather to address these actions with the understanding that is a pure amoral grab for power. All the rest are but pasties on the trollop to fool the simple that all is as it should be.

Meanwhile, 2 things will be happening:
1) very hard for Trump to run since theoretically conviction from this offense is a bar to holding federal office (or that will be the argument). His strongest supporters will grow even more enraged but a good number will have some hesitation because what happens if Trump is the candidate but then legally is barred from holding office?
2) this will suck all political air from anyone else who even is thinking of running as news stories will breathlessly give us updates every day. That's on the Republican side at least. Dems will line up to see which progressive poodle can condemn Trump the most virulently.

Perhaps worse still - there is virtually no chance that the alphabets can allow a Republican who is not a corporatist member of the swamp to be elected. If Trump is still running or if Trump is disqualified and DeSantis is the nominee, election cheating will be on a scale even previously unknown and actively assisted by agency leadership (not rank and file) and any assigned operatives. They simply cannot allow them to win because after indicting Trump, there will be enormous pressure on the next GOP president to liquidate the FBI as an agency and reform many of the others. Provided there is a GOP congress, it is likely the votes and appetite will be there for some major agency reform. Even without it, Trump's "Schedule F" initiative makes it possible to basically fire every political appointee and he would be vengeful and ruthless in doing so if elected. DeSantis is likely to be more surgical but use the same mechanism to eliminate every federal employee that he sees as a possible threat to his administration or policy.

This means that once the indictment, I am predicting here, is pushed forward, we will have entered a period where we essentially have a junta run by the federal leo/intelligence agencies (though some would claim we were well on the path in 2020, with the first attempt in 2016). The removal of Trump at any cost is a blatant political power grab. They cannot then let go of it to risk someone may hold them responsible for their actions. The Democratic nominee would simply be the window dressing, though they would have wide latitude on most policy issues. Consider the model long held by places like Pakistan, where there are contentious elections but the real arbiter of power is the Army.

This is a path to a civil uprising once people understand that there can be no real election anymore (which may take more than a single cycle since the media will be selling the election results hard). When the next Jan 6 happens, however, the 1M+ protestors may come fully armed to DC. What will happen then? Meanwhile, our enemies, both China and Russia will use the social media to amplify our dissent. The very social fabric ripped apart.

This is not what I want to happen but once the die is cast, each subsequent step is a logical conclusion for each side to make in their own self interest. It is why we should not have gotten here.

Let us see if I am right about the indictment. For those of you progressive Vols (or anyone else) who claims I am fancifully imaging unreasonable scenarios rather than predicting entrance to the road to hell for our democracy and our country - please be so kind as to share your own expectation of events following if Trump is indeed indicted? and if you expect that will happen?

Indeed, please tell me I am wrong - a hopeful word would be good this morning.

That’s a fart in a stiff wind. Trump is going nowhere. Want to see the **** hit the fan? Prosecute him for something 2 dozen democrats have done with no push back.

Nobody is going to do anything
Sure they are, they are going to leak crap every couple of weeks like the hammer is about to fall, and the media will jump all over it and say things like "Trump could be indicted any day now". Once the democrats lose the midterms they will back off for a while until the presidential election is in full steam and then another batch of ongoing leaks will resurface and Trump will once again be on the "verge" of another indictment with new "breaking" evidence.

Thank you for some LOTR-grade science fiction bro.

Couple things you omitted:

(1) Americans don't want Trump to be President again.

Fully 64% of Americans don’t want to see Trump make another White House bid as he has teased -- including 27% of Republicans and 68% of independents -- and only 37% of adults have a favorable opinion of Trump, according to a recent Quinapic survey.

(2) Trump lost the 2020 election. Period.

Anyone talking about "civil uprising" in the same breath as Trump is in a very small minority of people. Fill in the blank for a reason, nobody cares.

(3) If Trump did actually commit a felony, he should be held to the same legal standards as anyone else, you or me, whoever.

Our country needs to move on from Trump. He's a symptom, not a cure. I hope the Republican Party doesn't go down the tube with him, but that remains a distinct possibility.

Isn't that still higher than any potential Dem opponent?

The problem is that people like yourself have never understood that it is not about Trump. He is at best, a very imperfect blunt instrument. It is about the people he represents. For years the old guard GOP as well as the labor wing of the Dems said they represented the working man, the nuclear family, the middle class, etc. BUT THE TRUTH WAS THAT THEY GAVE IT MERE LIP SERVICE while never so much as even pretending to deliver anything but pork to their cronies once elected.

Then comes Trump, born with a silver spoon up his ass yet speaking in the vernacular of your average longshoreman, the most unlikely voice of the common man ever to walk the earth. Equally so a completely transactional person with little in the way of ideology except the holy importance of personal loyalty, and a genuine nationalism for the country that has benefitted him. YET ONLY TRUMP ACTUALLY HAD THE AUDACITY TO MAKE SOME EFFORT AT PAYMENT ON PROMISES MADE TO THE PEOPLE WHO ELECTED HIM.

Trump is not so much a fantastic candidate of Trumpism as he is an utter indictment of the phony sycophants before him who cried their Christian piety and conservative credentials only to whore them at the trough of the washington establishment and the global elites. Our culture, our economy, our safety, nothing was so sacred as not to be sold.

So nobody really cares if TRUMP gets clipped - but the very clear message is that if they can clip Trump, a former President and billionaire - THEY ARE COMING FOR YOUR ASS NEXT! Because that is their plan, to keep us as serfs and turn us into slaves.

Your focus seems to be on Trump, and you failed to understand the wave that Trump happens to be in front of.
In the summer of 2020 you saw the passion of a small group of Americans in Portland, and other cities. Whether you're on the left and simmering about Roe V Wade, or on the right simmering about 87000 more IRS agents, you have to acknowledge that the US is a powder keg and sides are being formed. The current administration and Trump both appear to be happy getting into a fight, we can only pray that there rises up a leader, that's not a part of either, that enough sane Americans recognize and can truly unite us.
The part Gandalf hasn't addressed, is what nations/states will side with who if a fight breaks out, or will the world set it out and come in and pick up the pieces?

Oh, stop.

The truth is Trump appeals to the masses because he speaks like a 5th grader. Most Americans are ignorant sheep that just want to be told what to do, so a self-purported "stable genius" appeals to your average Joe. And, of course, Trump is politically savvy, and knows how to prey on the prejudices and ignorance of many Americans.

There is no big government conspiracy.

Nobody's coming to take your guns.

Trump is but a pimple on the ass of humanity, and years from now, he'll be but a footnote in the history of our country and how the guardrails of democracy actually worked.

Complete gaslighting.
