I don't necessarily disagree and would rather see the focus on Mar A Lago, Georgia interference, and 1/6.
Just curious. Do you have a link of anyone actually saying that?Lol did trump destroy the economy or did the actions of state and local governments intentionally destroy the economy by locking down for political reasons?
Many are on records openly saying they would consider removing covid restrictions after the election

So after looking at it a bit more, the felony charge is also outside the SOL. I guess that should have been obvious. Apparently, there’s no tolling statute in New York that would apply. So he’s going to claim equitable tolling. But it’s not like they were sitting there waiting to indict Trump. They’re not. Sounds like the New York State legislature wrote a statute that says falsifying business records to conceal or further another crime is a felony. If done for some other purpose it’s a misdemeanor.
Bragg is alleging facts to satisfy that enhancement and the underlying crime that was concealed or whatever is the election finance crime.
It sounds like it is just a standard enhancement and he’s just applying New York law as written.
Seems like a tough case to win because presumably he can’t get a lesser included and he has to prove a lot of elements.
But it doesn’t seem nefarious. That sounds like it’s just Trumpkins doing Trumpkin things.

The enhancement alone, the shaky argument for equitable tolling alone, the political situation alone, or the closeness of the case alone… I’m not especially bothered by any of it individually but all of it together does stink.

The LA County health director stating in September that it wasn't feasible to reopen schools before the election..........Here's the LA County health director openly stating they would not consider reopening until post election. Given the economy was in a good place pre-Covid and then democrats shut the world down and controlled the biggest cities/counties within our country, wasn't it really democrats who ruined the economy? Were the high unemployment #s and low GDP not a direct result of lockdowns?

Yes but I’m not fixing my damn autocorrect to tolling every time so just read rolling and rolled as tolling and tolled. Can you explain what a tolling statute and equitable tolling is?

That's your smoking gun?
COVID and all that went with it had a direct and immediate impact on the economy, an impact still being felt today.
Part of being a good president is an ability and willingness to work effectively with individual states. That takes trust, civility, compromise, efforts to bridge the divide....all things Trump burned to the ground.
