Sadly, I have seen it happen in local elections in my area too. They drop all charges when the political candidate jumps out of the race, convenient. That is in Tennessee and was with Republican races as well. It is a major problem with our political scene nationally. This crap has been going on for over 30-40 years, at least, if not longer.

Major corruption in our nation being exposed. I love it. Entire corrupt system is coming down. You can call it all "conspiracy theories" and other names for only so long before it gets exposed as truth.

Sometimes. A lot of it has to do with the Constitution. Basically the Federal government, arguably, has taken on a ton of power they were never intended to have and a lot of these items were delegated to the states. The states can ignore those items.

Now if it had something to do with the REAL powers given to the Federal government, like National Defense items, the Federal Government can walk all over the states. Basically, these are the expressed powers called out in the Articles of the Constitution itself.

80% of these Federal Agencies and laws were built under two clauses in the Constitution: Equal Protection and Interstate Commerce clause and are arguably very vague and broad interpretations of those powers. Combine that with the 14th Amendment (which is also read very broadly).

The state can basically saw those clauses are being read too broadly and ignore the law/ruling/order.

Yep - a clear admission this wasn't serious. Funny it's couched in "no one is above the law" when you bring massive resources to charge felonies then say there is no penalty.
