The Masters

Jason Day with a great round of golf as well, should be one helluva weekend at Augusta National, damn! I love the Masters, best four days in a row in sports.

Phil said his two favorite days of the year was the weekend at the Masters.

I look for rory pull a Dimarco & fall back tomorrow with a 76 or or something but still be in the mix on Sunday.

With 3 green jackets to his credit, I'd say he does. He's got some serious work ahead of him if he wants to get a 4th this weekend, I hope he goes way low tommorrow and gets in the mix, I want to see all the big dogs on top of the leaderboard fighting it out on Sunday.

A Rory-Tiger-(Phil?) showdown could be epic. Legendary if Freddie could somehow make the mix.

Freddie will be around. he won't win and he probably won't seriously contend, but he'll be there.

i hope they don't turn this thing into a bloodbath this weekend, because i like the lower numbers at Augusta. i don't need to see the winner at -17 or 18 but i'm OK with a guy like Jason Day shooting a 64 or Tiger going 7 for 11 on birdies.

Typically, the bloodbath happens on Saturday and then they go to the traditional Sunday pins where they can score a little if they pick their spots. I don't think they'll be able to make it too severe though. The lack of bad weather and little wind have made the scoring conditions as favorable as they get at Augusta.

Kid is gonna crap his pants if Tiger comes out hot. Speaking of... It's very humid in ATL tonight. Going to be warm and muggy with tstorms tomorrow

Great idea putting those kids together. The Natural, the baby Aussie, and Soupbowlhat. Fantastic golf shots from all three and they had fun with each other all day while gathering a following. Good for the Masters and good for golf in general. The more natural easiness, dress and no posing of the two non-Americans make Soupbowlhat look more like a Madison Ave. billboard, though. Out of all the golf fans watching all over the world I would guess that Japanese kids (and U.S.) would be the only ones who might go for the soupbowl hat look.

Oh please...

This always seems to happen at Augusta. One of the old guys gets hot with his irons and strings together a couple of rounds for nostalgia's sake. For whatever reason, Nicklaus, Couples, Watson, Hogan, Floyd all have had a run or two at Augusta near the age of 50.

Anybody happen to catch the Nicklaus yellow shirt story on Thursday? Pretty amazing.

like i said last night, i don't think it's unreasonable to assume that Couples will be around the leaders on Sunday.

i compare it to playing your home course and then your friends' home course. you're probably going to be 4-5 shots better on your track simply because you're more familiar with it.

Exactly. Plus Freddy, whether it's his back or just out of frustration, will at times get lackadaisical. It's almost like you can see him in pain and watch him flip the eff it switch. At Augusta he plays through it because he loves the hell out of the track. Rightly so.

You might enjoy this article. I've known about his back for a long time, but didn't know it was that bad. I hope and believe he can stick around near the top, but I won't be surprised if he fades fast because of the back.

His back is messed up for sure. Wasn't questioning that. Just saying that any other tournament the pain might cause him to just lose interest. Not at Augusta National.
