Who will win this year? They added some yardage and everyone seems to think that a lot of guys who cannot crush it will not have a shot at winning now. Then there are the rumors flying around that Tiger Woods may or may not play becasue of his dad's health. I usually pull for Davis Love III until he chokes in the third round. Maybe this is his year?

I think it's all about Tiger. If he's on, it's over.

I'll be at the Wednesday practice round. :dance2:

Don't really care who wins, but it'd be cool to see two or three guys fighting it out in the last few holes.

I was forunate enough to get tickets for Sunday (round 3 and 4) last year. It was by far the best sports experience of my life. The course is so insane to see in person. I haven't read the rumors but I can't see betting against Tiger Woods to win this course, now that its a bit longer.

Mickelson, Els , or Vijay should be able to make a run at it. DiMarco has also played well there. I'll be rooting for Couples though :D

vijay is going to take it, but i'm going to root for big john daly.

Vijay has struggled a lot with his putting for most of the season. I don't see him with any chance to win at Augusta National having problems putting.

I don't think Michelchoke can get it done again. In fact, he has a 6 shot lead in the BellSouth and I am quite confident that he will blow it by end of day tomorrow.

Dimarco needs to figure some things out in a hurry if he's going to make a run. He missed the cut by a mile this week in Atlanta.

The lead just went to 11??? I think even I might be able to protect an 11 shot lead.

Is the par 3 tournament in the AM and practice rounds following?

They actually go on at the same time. A lot of the top guys skip the Par 3 tournament and play a practice round instead.

For about 5 years in the 1980's I went to Monday and Tuesday practice, what a beautiful place and a great way to see it during practice.

Winner will be old lefty, P. Michelson by three strokes over Tiger. :D

There is no man alive that could have scared Phil enough to choke away that lead he had today.

Only six times in PGA Tour history has an individual won a PGA Tour event the weekend before a major and then gone on to win the major the following week. Phil Mickelson won't be making that 7 this weekend.

That stat is slightly misleading since especially nowadays a lot of the top players choose to always take the week off before a major.

pick 1/ Tiger. He's pick #1 for the next 20 years.

pick 2/ Davis Love III. He has the length, and after the collapse at The Players', he is certainly motivated to make a statement.

pick 3/ Ernie Els. I sense his desire to finally do this is greater than any I can remember. He says the knee's no problem now and he's ready to go. We'll see.

Dark Horse- Jose Maria Olazabul. Streaky, but when he's on...Damn.

Misses the Cut Surprise- Justin Leonard. Just a hunch.

Can you really call a two-time winner of the event a dark horse?

With course playing 7,500 yards, I'd consider Olazabal a dark horse. Not saying he can't win, but he's not really all that long, so he has to be perfect everywhere else.

My thinking too GA, Ollie's win seems now like it ocurred on a different course entirely. Besides, a dark horse isn't supposed to have no shot at all is he?

Also, don't think anyone has much mentioned DiMarco. Remember he was the one Tiger had to catch on Sunday last year.

I just had lunch outdoors. The weather was Fantastic! Now I've got serious Masters' Fever! I may even check out the press conferences on GolfChannel this afternoon. They ought to televise the par 3 tourney, hell I'd watch that too!

A Tradition unlike any other.... so true.
