The Meltdown That Is Happening At CatsPause

But they were supposed to be good right? Or was that just recruiting rankings/ Coach Cal hype?

When I saw them at the B/W scrimmage, I knew that they'd handle most teams, but they'd take a beating against athletic, muscular teams like you see in the SEC. Skal and Lee are soft. Interior defense is suspect.

I know Skal sat out a year, but man he should have been in the weight room. Dude is so weak. Obviously he will be great but right now, not so much.

Talent disparity speaks volumes over the head to head record. Bruce's 3 stars consistently challenge Cal's NBA rosters.

Not really.

Also, I'm not sure what "consistently challenge" means. Both of their meetings last year were UK blowouts. He was 1-4 vs. Cal at UT and 3 of those double digit losses.

Being from Kentucky, a lot of people I know ain't happy with Calipari and his one & done type of business he's running at UK. My dad, (a long life UK fan) is one of them and he told me that Cal only cares about getting his players to the NBA. I've said that all along and it's finally starting to get to some people. It doesn't help a team's chances at a National Title when you have players leave every year to go to the NBA and having to start all over again. I understand that they're winning but as long as Cal is there, it's always going to be about his players and the NBA. Not the program itself.

It should be about the players. That's what college basketball is built on. Seeing all the old guys crying about "loyalty" makes me smile.

Plus, the best way to win a title is to get the best players. He's been to what, 4 Final Fours in 6 years? Not sure where the anger comes from.

Can we please agree that UK was just overrated this year?

When you have as much roster turnover every year as UK, you're bound to have a team that flops at some point.

But it has produced several Final Fours and a national title, so it's hard to argue their approach hasn't been a success.

Why are they complaining? The college game has changed. If you want to be the best, you need really good players. Cal has won a championship at UK.
