The Meltdown That Is Happening At CatsPause

The way you are responding to every post makes me think Bruce owes you rent too?

I'm pissed off every time we lose. I never have had feelings towards Bruce negative or positive. I was actually glad to see him back in the SEC.

Can we please agree that UK was just overrated this year?

I thought we'd be a 10-15 type team, not a top 5 like preseason. But with the non existent Skal, and struggles on offense by the guards sometimes, we're probably not even a top 25 team. We don't play hard enough, and this team can't figure out how to score.

It should be about the players. That's what college basketball is built on. Seeing all the old guys crying about "loyalty" makes me smile.

Plus, the best way to win a title is to get the best players. He's been to what, 4 Final Fours in 6 years? Not sure where the anger comes from.

Understand that it should be about the players, but correct me if I'm wrong, is basketball not a "team" sport?

Why are they complaining? The college game has changed. If you want to be the best, you need really good players. Cal has won a championship at UK.

Are these one & dones working out for Cal right now? That's the problem, college basketball has changed and that's why some UK fans are upset. They don't like seeing their players go every year and having to learn new names. A program like UK demands excellence, so what if Cal doesn't win a national title for the next couple of years? Will UK just be happy getting to the tournament every year for Cal to keep his job?

Those Harrison twins should have stayed another year - I havent heard any NBA news about them this season

UK fans have to live with the crapshoot that is the NCAAT. He won't leave unless he fails to get to the FF this year or the next. And unless he somehow goes to the NIT twice in a row, UK would never dream of firing him. I'm 1000000% sure Cal will leave on his own terms.

The regular season means very little when the title is predicated on winning a tournament. UK made the finals 2 years ago as an 8 seed with 11 losses and lost to a 9 seed UConn team. UK plays a brutal OOC schedule and the FR take their lumps and are ready come tournament time. I don't expect this team to be much different. They'll be a SW-16 team at minimum. It would take a meltdown of monumental proportions to remove a coach with 5 E8's and 4 FF's in 6 years. No sane UK fan is complaining about his track record.

This is sad. 21 point lead and lose it to a horable TN team

Barnes owns Cal way more than Pearl does. Barnes is now 3-2, Pearl is 4-8.

Barnes has played him 5 times, Pearl has played him 12. Like. Lets see Barnes record after 12. If its 5-7 or better then you can say that.

If UF beats Kentucky today -- sadly they might win the SEC in the 1st season without Eddie Munster coaching

Not really the point.

Posters here came on saying how "Pearl owns Cal" even though he's only 4-8 against him. Nobody is saying Barnes owns Cal even though unlike Pearl, he actually has a winning record against him.

The idea that either coach owns Cal is silly, but the window licker population here actually think Pearl does own Cal.

That's a little harsh. It's just an example of how the highest profile game in a series (Feb. '08 between #1 vs #2 at Memphis) can create a misconception.

I think if someone is basing their perception on the two coaches based on a game 8 years ago, then they're really not that knowledgeable.

Knowledgeable? This is sports not school. I'm just saying that it's human nature to better remember and therefore place more emphasis on a game played between #1 vs #2 eight years ago which lead to our only ever #1 ranking then some meaningless game played between Kentucky and Auburn last month.
