The meltdown that is happening on the Georgia board is

Don't know his position, the commentator, on one of the million replays I've watched, said Carter is 6'7 guy in the end zone on that last play.

Yeah, he stood in the back corner until the ball was almost in Jennings hands.

Sportscenter roasted him pretty good.

And what's funny is after our last little coaching change, not a soul wanted Dooley back.

Well, perhaps a couple of morons, but an overwhelming majority thought better.

Anyway, sometimes to shows how moronic your fanbase can be about a coaching change.
wow short memories around here, we got the nega Vol name from this time period because 70% on here praised Dooley just needed more time lol

My biggest surprise is they didn't stick their most athletic tall receiver and plant him at the goalline to knock down jump balls. The Lions did that stuff with Megatron.

They used to do that with AJ Green... I don't think they have a yall WR. McKenzie, Goodwin, Ridley are all like 6'1 or shorter I think. McKenzie is like 5'9. They could have put Nauta back there

Although I somewhat agree with the last statement, in general, not sure it fits in this situation. It's not like Richt was there a few years and got the boot... to me this lacks context.

Les Miles could go somewhere and have a better record than LSU does.... doesn't mean he shouldn't have been fired. (Hey guys, I wasn't doing my job there but look what happens when I do)

It was time for Richt to go a few years ago... there is no greener grass in Mile's case.... he ate it all. 10-15 years is plenty of time for a coach... time to move on and get new blood.

The thing with Richt and Miles is that the chance either fanbase is going to get anything better in terms of number of wins and/or championships is miniscule. Both programs spent many millions of dollars just to make a change for change's sake. I know you've previously addressed this, but it really does seem like neither school will be satisfied with anything less than Nick Saban-level success and it's just not going to happen.

I recall the Lions lost on a Hail Mary by the Packers last season

I couldn't disagree with you more. LSU has always told Les he had to compete for championships... that doesn't mean every year or even win them.... but they had to compete for what they were paying.

I disagree further that the vast majority of fans want Saban-like success, sure there could be some nutbags out there... but most of the fans just want LSU to compete. At some point, that means beating Lil Nicky but I don't see that as having to win every game or anything. LSU was regressing, there is no excuse as to what happened this year... its not completely insane to expect a coach making $5m to do his job. 10-15 years is long enough anyway... what LSU's record is... isn't too material to me... they were regressing and not competing. Les knows exactly why he is no longer the coach at LSU.

Georgia was in a somewhat similar, although they appeared to competing a little better... put Richt in the West and he would have been gone long ago. It was time for both schools. All our times up at some point. Les wasn't being paid to be in the bottom of West which is where this season was going.... completely crazy considering the personnel they had coming back.... this was on Les.

Spot on. A clue was that their offense was stagnant, nothing changed from last season, and if fact it got worse. Enter Orgeron. Energized them enough to set a school offense record (634 Yards) the first game after Les leaves. That is a statement with an exclamation mark at the end.

The problem with the higher ups at LSU and the LSU fans is they forget what it was like for about 15-20 years prior to Saban. They forgot hires like Curley Halman and DiNardo. That program was below average for years and 90% of the talent in state went to another school. I think it was Les time to go but sometimes you need to be grateful for what you have, because it could all disappear very quickly. (See Tennessee before Butch)

Bump should be a ripe thread and enjoyable for all Vol fans

Let me see, they got rid of a long tenured mediocre successful coach, are lacking quality depth, hired a new guy...... easy to see where this is going. Enjoy the next 5 -10 years Georgia and suck it!

I didn't see that one coming. Watched the game. Most pathetic, lethargic performance by an offense I've seen in a while. Huge mistake to not give the ball to Chubb or Michel on that 4th down play. Add it to the long list of mistakes the UGA offense made all game long. Play calling was atrocious. Vandy committed to stopping the run. All 11 moving forward at the snap. When that happens, you throw.

The upside is that UGA is effectively eliminated from the SEC East race. It's down to us and UF, and a loss to Bama would still keep us ahead of UF.

Go Vols.

Thank God Vanderbilt beat Georgia. That'll definitely steal the spotlight from our loss to Bama on sports networks.

The dawgs I know are acting like they won because bama beat us. So are Kentucky fans. It's like they're living vicariously through other teams.

Where are all the dawg trolls tonight? Oh yeah, they're hiding because they just got beat by Vandy in Sanford! :birgits_giggle:
